Sunnyside Cottage is a 220 year old Grade 2 listed building nestled within the heart of the delightful village of Sewerby on the east coast of Yorkshire. Sewerby is set on the cliff tops overlooking the beautiful bay of Bridlington so within five minutes by foot you can be on the beach!

Sunnyside Cottage is a fully central heated, tastefully decorated period cottage and has a warm and cosy feel. With many original features the accommodation comprises of 2 spacious bedrooms (Double & Twin)

It has two cosy lounges with beamed ceilings, so at the end of the day parents and children can have their own lounge each to relax in! Facilities include a Freeview TV and DVD player along with a large selection of DVDs and family games. There is a large selection of books and CDs available in the second lounge.

WiFi is available throughout the property.

The dining kitchen is spacious and well equipped and it has dining facilities to accommodate 6 guests. The kitchen is equipped with full electric oven, fridge, washing machine, tumble dryer and microwave.

Tea and coffee are provided along with a welcome basket on your arrival.

PLEASE NOTE THIS PROPERTY ONLY HAS A DOWNSTAIRS SHOWER ROOM, THERE ARE NO BATHROOM FACILITIES UPSTAIRS.

Upstairs there are two very spacious bedrooms, one double and one twin. There is an additional bed available to sleep an extra guest at a cost of £5 per night available in the twin room.

Sunnyside Cottage has a large fully enclosed pleasant rear garden with private parking for 2 cars. The garden is sunny for most of the day with a patio area where garden furniture is provided for al fresco dining.

We provide a family pass for 2 adults and 2 children to gain free access to Sewerby Hall so you can enjoy many trips to the Hall during your stay at Sunnyside.

We are more than happy to accommodate two well behaved dogs.

The village boasts the magnificent Sewerby Hall which is set in 50 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens. The Hall also features a children's zoo, golf course, pitch and putt, rose garden and cafe.

Sewerby has a wonderful pub and restaurant all within a couple of minutes walk for those evenings when you don't feel like cooking.

In just a couple of minutes walk you can be at Sewerby Steps enjoying the views over to Bridlington Bay and Flamborough. You can chose to walk into Bridlington along the beach or round to Danes Dyke and Flamborough, rock pooling as you go.

Guests find that once they have arrived they often don't use their car again during their stay as the village has a good bus service especially in the summer months to nearby villages. There is also the land train available in Sewerby between Easter and September which goes round to the South Promenade in Bridlington.

We stayed at Sunnyside for 10days and absolutely loved it. It’s ideally situated to get straight on to the clifftops at Sewerby-great for dog walks & well situated to get out and about. Sunnyside cottage is lovely & quaint with a great garden and very well equipped. An added bonus were the passes to get into Sewerby Hall which is well worth a visit and just at the end of the road.Would highly recommend a stay

Superb location

Cosy cottage, great garden sitting area and right on the quiet high street. Really appreciated the complimentary Sewerby Hall tickets. Sewerby itself is ideally situated with Flamborough Head 10 mins dtive away and Bridlington within walking distance. Great!

Beautiful Cottage

We had a fantastic time. The cottage was spotless and has everything you need. The location is great. The garden is really secure for pets and children. This is the second time we have stayed at Sunnyside and we will be booking again.

Lovely comfy cottage

The cottage size is deceptive when you first drive past. When you arrive and park at the rear you find a lovely expanse of lawn and patio area with seating. Inside is delightful, very up to date without losing the cottages identity at all. Lovely soft furnishings and decor with two comfy sitting rooms of which we only used one, on one occasion, because we sat around the dining table in the evenings, chatting etc. The bathroom and kitchen facilities were excellent apart from I couldn't find any pegs for the washing line?¿. And not a complaint but just a comment, if you're taller take care with the doorway to the stairs..... My husband managed to bang his head both going up and down 😉 Not a problem for me at under 5'! Thank you for a lovely stay 🙏

Fantastic getaway

We stayed here for three nights as a family of four and our dog Reggie. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well presented, we all immediately felt comfortable and at home. As we explored our new home we found it was more than spacious and had everything we needed and more. Well lawned secure garden, a patio with table and chairs, parking and a selection of, music CDs, DVDs and board games. Plenty of towels and pillows.We even had a little goodie bag left for us by the owner. The cottage was well situated, just a 100 yards or so from. Sewerby Hall and gardens and a five minute walk to the sea front. This offered lots of open green spaces for our dog and a nice level tarmac path along the cliff top down to Bridlington. The beach is dog friendly and as we were blessed with sunshine had a great week of walking, exploring the area and beach, along with some quiet evenings on the patio in the garden. To some up the experience we are booking to go back next year, which I suppose says it all. Thanks for a great few days away that we all needed....

Loved staying at this beautiful cottage in Sewerby. Plenty of space for a family of four and our dog. Being so close to the cliffs for dog walking was perfect. Easy access to town, but far enough out for peace and quiet. The cottage had everything we needed including a nice enclosed garden for the dog. We have a bigger car, and parking is tight but it is fine if you take it slow round the bends! Great to have parking at the back of the property as never guaranteed at the front. A wonderful stay and we will be back!

Walk down memory lane

It's 50 years since we last visited Bridlington. Sunnyside Cottage looked ideal, being a characterful property and ideally placed to re-explore the area and relive some memories. It didnt disappoint in any way. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and comfortable and had every amenity we needed to help enjoy our stay. It was easily walkable for us down into the heart of Bridlington itself (we're both approaching 70 but reasonably fit), yet remote enough for a more peaceful existence. The Olde Forge was directly across the road (but no noise) and The Ship only a couple of minutes walk away. Both were lovely but booking is definitely recommended if you want to eat there. Sitting in the sun in The Ship's beer garden on Sunday afternoon with live music was a very pleasant way to end our stay.

Wonderful stay in a fantastic location

Brilliant little cottage perfectly located in quiet Sewerby. Very clean on arrival and well equipped. Plenty of space for us all…including a large garden for the dog to explore.Comfortable beds and a great, powerful and hot shower!Location is great, Bar/restaurant right opposite (but rest assured no noise from it) another pub with huge beer garden that also does good food 2 minutes away. 5 minute walk to sea front (cliff tops but the sea is right there!). Close to Bridlington and easy to get there either with a 20ish minutes walk along the sea front or on the land train (maybe 5 minute walk)Parking at rear, tight access road so be mindful if you’ve got a bit car as it is narrow at points so some care needed.Overall a great stay and will be back!

We are a family who live in West Yorkshire but have loved all our family holidays on the east coast for as long as we can remember. We love this part of the coast both at the height of the season but even more so out of season, it has something to offer everybody.

Why they chose this property

We have looked for a holiday home on the east coast for a long time, we had a long list of things that needed to be ticked for it to be perfect for us and when we came across this little gem of a cottage we knew it was the one for us.

Sewerby is a lovely little village and Sunnyside has everything we need and hopefully you will need for the perfect family holiday by the seaside.
