The views and quiet of the location are a big bonus. There are a number of good dining pubs in the area: The Bridge in Dulverton and The Royal Oak in Withypool. The Copper Kettle in Dulverton has a lovely garden if the weather is good. The cottage has two seating areas, a private garden at the back and a small area at the front where you can chat to the neighbours if you want to.

The Byre is a very comfortable and quite spacious cottage. It's very secluded. We would have enjoyed the private garden in better weather - and anyway we were mostly out on Exmoor. The cottage is excellent situated, being a few minutes from moors, woodland river walks, and the lovely little town of Dulverton.

The En-suite has a good shower and the bathroom near the front door is very convenient for washing muddy paws when you come in after a long walk. It is perfect for us and our two dogs, a real home from home where we can relax and unwind and a short drive to the best that Exmoor has to offer. Thank you. We had a wonderful week.

Byre cottage exceeded our expectation. It had everything we needed and there were extra little touches. Milk in the fridge, tea and coffee to cover our first day. In the bathroom there was bath soak and shower gel. The enclosed patio area was ideal for our dog to safely go out into. It’s in a lovely peaceful location and not far from the moor. We would highly recommend this cottage.

A secluded cottage right on the edge of Exmoor National Park. Narrow country roads are to be expected as well as a few chickens and a rather huge amount of pheasants litter the roadways - wonderfully charming. The accommodation is well equipped and so very private. The only point of note is the wifi - it really is only suitable for email and browsing, certainly wont be streaming Netflix on those rainy evenings. Book reading and sleepy sofa evenings as the night's draw in more than suitable alternative to binging Netflix latest.

We had a great week at Byre Cottage. It's in a beautiful location, although the weather didn't encourage us to make as much use of the lovely garden as we would have liked. But the cottage remained cosy despite the unseasonable weather. There is a great collection of books about Exmoor in the cottage - as we were new to the area, we really appreciated that. As a result, we discovered some lovely spots such as Landacre Bridge which we might otherwise have missed. The well-equipped kitchen was also a big plus - I can't think of anything I might have wanted which wasn't there. We would recommend the terrific frozen meals from the bakery on the way into Dulverton; also a visit to the model railway setup behind the Dulverton Heritage Centre - fascinating even to a non-model railway enthusiast like me! Altogether, a stay at Byre Cottage is strongly recommended.

Hi We thought Byre cottage was fine and very well equipt especially the kitchen, however we did not find the descriptive instructions on how to find it that helpful, lt would have been a great help had it mentioned to folow the sign to Ashwick, as it happened we went passed this only to find we had to do a U turn. The only other negative was the distance from the allocated parking bay to the entrance with all the lugage only to find later it much shorter from the road and using the sliding door. Hoping this constructive critisim may be helpful to future clients. We did also find traveling in the area dificult with a number of closed road signs, especially the one to Tarr Steps from Dulverton, (not your fault) Regards John Tourell
