Le Cadran Solaire (The Sundial) is a stunning renovation of a 200 year old cottage. It has 3 good-sized bedrooms (2 doubles and 1 twin) 1 shower-room, 1 bathroom, a large kitchen/diner and large separate lounge. One double bedroom and the shower-room are downstairs and accessible by wheelchair users. Le Cadran Solaire also has a private terrace and garden.

The kitchen features a range oven/hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine, kettle, toaster, filter coffee-maker and Nespresso machine... everything you could wish for! The lounge features English language satellite TV, DVD player and a wood-burning stove.

Tres bon séjour en Charente maritime

Tres jolie maison avec tout le confort et une super piscine abritée et chauffée qu il vente ou que le soleil tape ! Un grand merci à Rachel pour se réactivité et sa gentillesse. Pas loin de royan ou des plages de la Gironde mais tranquillement cachée dans les terres Antoine

After many holidays all over France where we rented accommodation, we decided to settle upon the Charente Maritime, with its wide blue skies and access to the beach, and buy a family holiday house. We fell in love with Les Chapelles and its peaceful rural setting as soon as we saw it and were delighted to take it over early in 2016. The two gites, Le Cadran Solaire and La Cachette, have been rented out as holiday accommodation for a number of years and we are keen to maintain the great holiday experience offered by our predecessors.

Why they chose this property

Les Chapelles has the benefits of being a truly peaceful rural location but with easy access to good-sized towns and, of course, the beautiful Atlantic beaches. The Charente-Maritime is known as being the second-sunniest region in France, which is lovely, yet is still relatively undiscovered and authentically French.

What makes this property unique

Beautiful self-contained accommodation with private outside space, access to large garden, heated indoor pool with sun terrace, table tennis and well equipped shady children's playroom.
