The Historic market town of Thirsk lies 3.5 miles away from the resort. In the town there is a picturesque country racecourse with excellent facilities. Thirsk is also well known as the home of James Herriot (Alf Wight, Obe) the world’s most famous vet.

Great location for visiting North Yorkshire
Lovely place to stay, the accommodation was very clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing five days to get about and visit the coastal areas of North Yorkshire. The swimming pool was a bonus and we will definitely be coming again as we loved the quiet location and Thirsk a few minutes away.

Relaxing weekend break, great for families with excellent facilities.
Our apartment was welcoming and spotlessly clean on arrival. It was well equipped and very comfortable. We used the swimming pool, hot tub and sauna on several occasions and also enjoyed walking our dog around the beautiful grounds of Sutton Hall .

Fantastic resort, it’s a great place to stay
We love the area, the well equipped accommodation, private time for our swimming, the well maintained gardens and accommodation. Staff are very friendly and welcoming too.
We stayed in Rosedale using our timeshare points. This is our third stay at the resort and we love it here. Thank you to all of the staff and management for looking after the resort so well and making it a pleasure to stay here.
We’ve bought the SHR rhubarb and rosemary gin and look forward to drinking it.

Liked: Communication, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Cleanliness
Unfortunately we did not meet the host as we arrived after 17:00. The cottage was in lovely condition however a few complaints. The sink in the bathroom was not draining properly and the hot water in the sink was not warm. Another big complaint was the rug in front of the fire place. It was covered in white dog hair, it had clearly not been hoovered properly and all our clothing was covered in white dog hair which I believe was unacceptable. It was difficult to remove from our clothing. I wasn’t aware this was a dog friendly property but this did affect our stay. The hot tub was also very cold and we were unable to stay in it for longer than 10 minutes.

We feel relaxed and rejuvenated. A well needed weekend break in a beautiful village!
We received a very warm welcome on arrival from the Manager, Robyn. She talked through the available facilities on site and made recommendations for restaurants and walks nearby!
We were also handed a personalised brochure which was easy to navigate and contained lots of information to facilitate our stay. We stopped in a dog friendly cottage which was very clean and had an air purifier to remove dog odours! Cottage was well equipt with all the necessities. It was like a home away from home!
