Village property - Wayside Cottage DH8 9NL

A charming stone built cottage located in the village a 1 minute drive from Burnside. Fully equipped stone flagged kitchen, living room with log burner,and mezzanine bedroom with king size bed and velux windows for star gazing in this dark sky area. The en- suite bathroom has a corner bath with shower and there is also a dressing room. There is a small paved area outside with a table and chairs to enjoy the sun until late at night in the summer, and an out building suitable for bike storage etc. (Please ask for keys). There is also on-street parking right outside the cottage. A starter pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits will be provided, as well as logs in the winter. Bedding and towels are also included. The village shop is just next door for any other provisions including logs and e-bike hire and the Punchbowl Inn is a 1 minute walk away.
Please note the minimum length of stay is 3 nights.

Please note, at the present time we do not have WiFi in the cottage, but there is excellent 4g coverage.

Dogs are welcome at Wayside, by prior arrangement, but out of consideration for other guests they are not permitted on any of the furniture , and please bring their own beds, bowls, towels etc, and crates if used. Dogs can not be left unsupervised in the cottage at any time.
Nestled beside the Burnhope Burn, in the picturesque village of Edmundbyers in the North Pennines; The Burnside offers a relaxing and comfortable stay in beautiful, tranquil surroundings and a full English breakfast served in our beautiful sunroom with views over the garden.
Golf, fishing and sailing nearby, or stunning walks and cycling to suit any level; not to mention Hadrians Wall, Beamish Museum, The Derwent Reservoir, Hexham, Corbridge, Blanchland, Stanhope and Barnard Castle within easy reach, you will never be short of some thing to do.
Our unique and comfortable cottages have central heating, bed linen and towels all included in the price and are equipped with full kitchen and bathroom facilities, there is also plenty of seating outdoors in the beautiful garden for either dining or just taking time to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. One well behaved dog is welcome, (please bring bed, bowls etc), at a charge of £10 per night which is payable on arrival. (£5/night if staying 4 days or more).
The village pub is only a five minute walk away, with excellent beers and food, and there are an abundance of top class restaurants locally.
Outside you can take a stroll around the eight acres of grounds and sit by the lake watching the dragonflies, moorhens and ducks, or wander by the burn and maybe catch sight of a kingfisher or heron.

Relaxing long weekend
The cottage is lovely! Spotless and so peaceful. There is a pub opposite which does lovely home cooked food and another bar at the bottom of the street which is extremely friendly and does amazing pizza. Would definitely recommend.
