About this property
2 bedroom cottage in the heart of Mortehoe, Devon
Mortehoe has been close to our hearts for some years and when we spotted Park Cottage for sale and in need of some TLC, we decided to invest our pennies in a renovation project and our first holiday let. This is a beautiful part of the country and we hope you enjoy it as much as us.
Mortehoe is a beautiful national trust village on the North Coast of Devon, spotted in between the sand-dune hills behind Morte Point, it’s within walking distance of Woolacombe and close to Lee Bay.
It's known as the gateway to a wild, remote coast with a rich history of wrecking and smuggling, and offers something for everyone; top surf, amazing walks (our cottage is located on the SW Coastal path), kayaking or cycling - and with an abundance of wildlife, if you’re lucky you’ll spot a sunbathing seal.
Mortehoe is a bustling little village with two pubs, a church, gorgeous couple of cafés with tea gardens, well stocked village stores and post office, a takeaway offering a range of home cooked healthy meals, and a fish and chip shop. The village has a children’s park and plenty of wide-open spaces to enjoy.
We are pleased to offer short breaks with a 3 nights min stay.
During peak season our min stay is 7 nights
Parking: Once you have unloaded, parking is in the village car park on Station Road EX34 7DT, a two minute stroll from the cottage.
Park Cottage is nestled in the idyllic coastal village of Mortehoe on the North Devon coast. Surrounded by spectacular vistas, serene coves and sandy beaches, and just steps from the SW coast path.
Interior designed to offer a seaside chic, open-plan space downstairs including relaxed lounge with wood burning stove, well-stocked modern kitchen, and stylish dining space opening out to the large enclosed garden and BBQ area.
Soothing coastal tones and sumptuous beds with luxury linen are designed for blissful sleep and rest. Considerable master bedroom with en-suite and super-king bed, across the hall from a second bedroom which can be arranged for guest preference as either a super-king or twin bed arrangement, adjacent to a luxury bathroom with both shower and bath. Upon request, a z-bed can be provided in either room to sleep a total of five.
With a dramatic backdrop throughout England’s four seasons; inside offers luxury furnishings and soft blankets to provide the comfiest place to kick-back in front of the fire as the wind whips up a frenzy on the surf. Whilst on balmy sunny days, open up the doors to feel the sea breeze and enjoy the garden into the night; as the BBQ embers burn out.
Known as the gateway to a wild, remote coast with a rich history of wrecking and smuggling, and for its stretch of award winning beaches, this coast offers something for everyone.
Whether surfing the waves, hiking the coastal path, or building sandcastles on the beach, we have a plentiful guide to help plan and perfect your stay. Whatever you do, soak up the serenity of this very special place and leave with a sense of peace.
Guests have kindly rewarded us with a 5/5 rating so far.
