The heat works really well in 15 degree weather. The property is neat and the host, Mary, is awesome. This was my third stay here and I cant wait for the next.

...thanks, "Frank." And your package of 'lost items' is on the way😍.
So glad you and yours had a great time! Do come again.
Totally easy check-in! The two couples were able to access the property with no issues. The code system for the door made doing things separately smooth.

Thank you , Beth.
Please advise as to how I can be a 5 star for you.
Thank you.
The house was in a great location with plenty of space for us all. The host was gracious and helpful and had extra little amenities to make the stay so nice. Would recommend to anyone.
We were in New Holstein for a family wedding. The house was adorable! Mary was so kind and quick to respond to any questions we had. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. The AC was great in the 90 degree weather! We will definitely stay here again if we're in the area.

I certainly do hope you have reason to return. Please remember the house is available 365...(hint:holidays!) 😉
And yes, the central air has been an appreciated update.
Thank you for your stay.
Had a great time on our youth trip. Lot's of hiking all around and a great set up. There isn't a TV/DVD which would have been good to know in advance but is FAR from being a deal breaker. Would stay here again.
Mary was a wonderful host. The home was very clean. The little touches such as Epson salt for the tub, night lights, and toothbrush holders were very helpful. It was in a quiet neighborhood and in a good location.
Ample space in this charming house. It was clean and nice. We had trouble with the a/c but thought it was operator error so I never contacted the homeowner until we left. Bring your own trash bags if you think you'll need more than one.

Thanks for your review. Yes, notification is appreciated at the time of trouble. The repair was complete within 20
minutes of the technician's arrival. Sorry for your discomfort.
Also, please alert the host when there will be 3 adults and 3 children vs 2 adults and 2 children.
Thank you for your stay.

Great home for a long weekend get-away
Great home. We had 3 families (8 people total) in town for a wedding. We all had space in the home - 2 couples to a room and 2 kids in the downstairs room. There was ample furniture for sitting and talking, a good sized dining table and very responsive and neighborly landlords.
We would stay here again!

So glad everything worked out for you! And I hope you do come back. You are welcome anytime.
1. Very comfortable.2. Responsive host.3. Well appointed. 4. Affordable5. Roomy -could really sleep 12.Only downside: 50 minutes from daily destination. But even when reserved months ahead of big event, was only one of a very few that met out original criteria.

But after being among 100,000 people...weren't the rolling hills and tranquil pasture land a relief and a respite?
Thanks for the stay and the 5 star review. You are welcome back...next year?
This was the only option I could find in the area to accommodate our 10 person group in a single home, so I wasnt too picky. I was VERY happy with this place! It is as advertised and even better. Ceilings are TALL and there was a LOT of space for kids to play. Thank you!

PS tall ceilings and no foot boards for tall guests!
Me and some friends were headed to Green Bay for the 49ers vs Packers game. It ended up just 2 of us traveling. This is our 2nd stay with Mary. She responded quick with any questions. Mary checked on us cookies for the ride home . She is GREAT
This property is as stated a very old home. Linens are dried on a clothes line so towels are not dryer soft.
The home is well cared for inside and the beds were comfortable. Overall we had a pleasant stay with 4 adults 2 children even with no tv or internet.

Yes.. lined dried..I like to think of it as an extra opportunity to exfoliate!😉😉
So glad to have you. Hope to see you again!
The house fit our needs perfectly. The four of us enjoyed the spacious main floor and each bedroom was more than adequate. The kitchen and dining room is fully furnished, just add food and go! We only had time to use the fire pit one night but it sure is a great feature. The hostess even supplies the wood. The home has many board games for relaxing. Each bathroom is fully stocked, so if you forget anything, you're all set. Thank you so much for the dessert you made for our arrival; what a thoughtful gesture. Would we stay again? YES!

Liked: Cleanliness, communication, location
Disliked: Check-in
Some things could be better, but this wasn't awful by any means!
The house was pleasant and quiet. Being an older house makes it difficult to get the house cool enough upstairs while not freezing out the down stairs.
2 things I would change. 1, the entry lock. The keypad entry is great, but not with the additional hassle of the 2nd knob, a keypad deadbolt would be better. 2, I would get rid of the throw rug in the kitchen. Tripped on this multiple times per day.
Would be nice to have access to laundry. No TV was not a big deal. It would also be good if the upstairs bathroom had a shower. Overall, a nice older home. We stayed for three nights during Airventure. I would stay again, I would just bring a few things of my own to help out (more fans, and maybe a large modern nonstick skillet, cast iron is nice, but can be a pain too).
This beautiful old house was wonderful for our family. It had plenty of space for all of us to have our own rooms and the living areas were comfortable. There are a lot of books, games and music provided if it rains (which it did). Mary responded quickly when we had questions; many great ideas on things to do in the area. Overall, this was a great place to stay and I would highly recommend it to anyone!
We loved the location of Just Like Grandma’s in the quiet little town of New Holstein between
Lake Winnebago and Lake Michigan. This gave us access to beautiful country drives as our
family came together from three different mid-west states. With the Toasty Oven Bake Shoppe
and the LaClare Family Creamery only minutes away, our family enjoyed a variety of fresh
Amish baked goods and delicious goat cheese. This wonderful two-story house is listed as
being over 100 years old and the beautiful craftsmanship inside proves it. Just like staying at
your grandma’s house, the floor would always let you know where everyone was hiding, but it
also gave us plenty of room to stretch out and relax. There were definitely enough beds to sleep
9, but in this style of old house, there are vents in the bottom of the walls that would allow air to
flow throughout the house. Unfortunately, if you have an uncle who is a chainsaw champion in
his sleep, you get to share in his excitement when he wins the competition several times a night.
Oh, the memories we made on this trip. There are two separate bathrooms, one upstairs and
one downstairs. The antique deep claw foot tub upstairs would be great for giving young kids
baths, but no one in our family was under 20 so we all shared the beautifully remodeled shower
downstairs. Like with any old house, the bathroom doors didn’t always close, but the owner had
door stops inside the bathrooms to keep from having to slam any doors. With only a few towels
in each bathroom, we were given directions to the local laundry mat since we had the house for
a full week. When we first arrived we reviewed the detailed list of do’s and dont’s on the
refegerator that included the off-limits areas where the washer and dryer were located. This list
was reiterated on the numerous visits we received from both the homeowners while we were
there. I am not sure if was the multiple motorcycles we arrived on or if it was our unique family
interaction, but visits from the home owner on 3 separate days seemed excessive. There was a
beautiful china cabinet in the dining room full of dishes, but like at grandma’s house, we were all
afraid to use them. Instead, we decided to purchase paper plates since recycling and
environmental protection were high on the do’s list and mentioned several times in our visits
from Mrs. Mary. The paper plates made it easier for clean up since the dishwasher was not fully
functional. Like most families, we took turns doing t
We came to town for a wedding at Millhome Supper Club that we were in and honestly were not at the house much other than to sleep. It served its purpose for us and we did not have to drive as far or spend as much as we would have at a hotel.

About the host
Hosted by Mary Growe
I love to travel. My passport boasts Spain, Germany, Mexico, Honduras, Greece, Japan, Czech Republic, England ,El Salvador, Honduras, Portugal, Croatia, and Bosnia/Herzegovina. I have traveled 40+ states...I know for sure I haven't been to Hawaii or Alaska.....but probably yours?
I garden :flowers, herbs, fruits, and vegetables. Not a master at any but enjoy the outdoors and the exercise!
I read mostly self-improvement/psychology, but also enjoy an occasional mystery or biography. I just like to know what makes people click...on AND off!
In my personal life...I have been married 49 years and have owned this home for 46 years. My husband and I raised our four children, hosted 3 foreign exchange students, and helped raise several foster boys in this home. I hope you can feel the love and welcome.
I love hosting and providing a serene environment to relax, rejuvenate , and reconnect.
Why they chose this property
We bought this house during the paneling and drop ceiling era. This was one of the very few that had not been "updated". When we purchased it, it was a two family. Ours quickly grew and we soon took over the whole house on a corner lot with two "dead end" streets. Monroe ends at the nursing home, Pleasant into a church parking lot. All I can offer is peace and quiet. Oh, and over 20 golf courses within 30 minutes, 4 observation towers within 40 minutes, 2 LARGE lakes within 20 minutes, numerous small lakes within 10 minutes, hiking and biking trails nearly from the back door as well as an outdoor (seasonal) aquatic center, tennis courts, basketball courts, and playgrounds.
If you are hungry, the well appointed kitchen is available as well as several supper clubs and restaurants in the immediate area. The full service grocery store is less than a mile away, but still in town!
There is also a 24/7 locally owned laundromat. And the volunteer fire department is only 2 blocks away, with excellent response time.
There is a hospital within 10 minutes of the house.
What makes this property unique
Total privacy. This stand alone property is yours exclusively. No upstairs neighbors, no nosy landlord😉.
Oh,,,and cottontail rabbits can be found in the early morning and late afternoon. The native milkweed attracts monarch butterflies, and there are fresh raspberries to pick almost all summer and into the fall.
