About this property

Luxury Pod with Garden View at Kevock Vale Park

Our luxury garden pod, new in August 2018, has a cosy, contemporary feel. This pod is non-smoking.

It has a small kitchenette for self-catering with a microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge-freezer. There is a small dining table inside with another dining area outside on the deck. We can provide a gas barbecue on request.

As well as a standard double bed, it has a comfortable sofa bed, flat screen TV and hairdryer.

The bathroom has a shower, toilet and basin.

Bed linen and towels are provided.

Dog owners please note that we now only allow one small dog to stay in our Garden Pod.

Kevock Vale Park is a quaint, quirky and quiet holiday and retirement park on the North Esk river, in the village of Lasswade, near Edinburgh. Children and pets are welcome. Our riverside lodges and luxury garden pod are open all year round for minimum 2 night stays.

It’s the perfect location for people who want to relax and have lots to see and do on the doorstep. It's a great base for exploring Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and the Scottish Borders.

A short walk into the village you will find three very popular restaurants and bars, the Paper Mill , the Laird and Dog Inn and Luci's Italian restaurant and cocktail bar. Outside the Laird and Dog, you can catch the 31 and 140 buses.

The 31 takes you to the centre of Edinburgh and all its attractions. The N31 night service runs from the city centre until 1230 weeknights and 0310 Saturdays and Sundays. The route takes you to Waverly Station, Princes Street, Haymarket Station and Edinburgh Zoo. From Waverly Station you can travel across the world-famous Forth Bridge to Fife, or take the scenic Waverly Line to the Scottish Borders.

The 140 takes you to Loanhead for local shopping and on to Roslin, where you can visit Rosslyn Chapel, made famous by Dan Brown's book "The Da Vinci Code" and the Roslin Glen Country Park. If you are feeling energetic, there is a sign-posted walking route along the river North Esk between the Laird and Dog, Roslin, the Chapel and the Country Park.

Across the road from the Laird and Dog, you can take the 31 bus to Bonnyrigg for local shopping and other local bus services, or take the 140 to Musselburgh on the Firth of Forth coast.

Local activities include horse-riding, golf, walking, dry-slope skiing and swimming. If you're ready for a quiet time, stay at the park, relax in the pod, sit out on the deck overlooking the river, go fishing or watch the wildlife.

Val and David have owned and managed Kevock Vale Park since February 2017. David is from Midlothian and Val is from the Scottish Borders. They have lots of local knowledge that they are happy to share with you. David is around most of the time to make sure your stay at the park is as relaxing as you want it to be.

David has worked at the park since 2009 with its previous owner. David has worked tirelessly with our volunteers, David and Tony, to transform the park from a building site into this appealing, unique riverside haven for our residents and holiday makers. Over the summer, David has introduced new, eye-catching garden features and is already planning what he wants to do next summer. Several of our residents are also keen gardeners and their colourful floral displays add to the beauty of the park.

Val is usually found in the park office when she is not at her day-job in Edinburgh. A sunny day is a great excuse for Val to leave the paperwork for a while and do some planting or weeding in the grounds.
