Just a few minutes from the historic center of Siena, yet immersed in a protected natural reserve, Podere Il Boschetto enjoys a setting of rare tranquility, surrounded by rolling hills, olive groves, and woodlands that change color with the seasons. Here, nature is an integral part of the experience: deer, porcupines, wild boar, and pheasants roam freely across the estate, in an area where hunting is prohibited and silence remains undisturbed.
It is a place that surprises with its perfect balance: the feeling of being far away from everything, with the city just beyond the hill.
Podere Il Boschetto is entirely reserved for guests and enclosed within a private estate that ensures complete privacy.
The villa is arranged over two floors, offering approximately 300 square meters of living space.
On the ground floor, there is a spacious living room and a dining room, both featuring fireplaces. The kitchen is large and fully equipped, designed for everyday use and suitable even for the most demanding cooks. A study provides a quiet, private space for reading or working. The interiors are furnished with a refined mix of antique pieces, wooden furnishings, rugs, and decorative objects. Large windows open onto the garden and olive groves, maintaining a constant connection with the surrounding landscape.
Upstairs, there are five bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Surrounding the villa, the garden opens onto a private estate of approximately ten hectares, including olive groves and woodland, ensuring both privacy and seclusion. The swimming pool is set in a panoramic position within the garden, offering wide views over the hills and surrounding olive trees. During the summer months, it becomes the natural focal point of the day, providing a peaceful space for swimming and relaxation. Sun loungers and umbrellas are arranged around the pool, allowing guests to enjoy both sun and shade throughout the day. In the late afternoon and early evening, when temperatures become milder, the light across the landscape creates a particularly calm and welcoming atmosphere.
Several outdoor living areas are also available, including gazebos furnished with comfortable seating—ideal for reading, conversation, or enjoying an aperitivo in the evening. Outdoor dining areas are located close to the house, making it possible to dine al fresco from spring through early autumn, while the barbecue area offers a simple and convivial setting for informal lunches and dinners.
The villa is equipped with carefully selected comforts to ensure an independent and relaxing stay, while preserving the authentic character of a private Tuscan home immersed in its natural surroundings.

We had an amazing stay! This place exceeded our expectations! We had everything we needed and the host is very good at communicating. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. We would definitely stay here again.
We stayed for the month of September and feel it was just what we expected from the reviews and price. Everything was a bit "tired" and needed some maintenance, but there is lots of room and we enjoyed the authenticity of the experience. The pool was great and we enjoyed the outdoor space. We had hoped to rent bikes and/or walk into town, but the roads around the villa are much too narrow. The bus is easy and the stop is just across the road, but the last bus from town is around 8:30 so not workable for dinner. You will need a rental car and the drive to closest Siena parking was only 8 minutes.
The rooms are spacious and well equipped and the house can easily accommodate 10 people. The property is located in a wealthy enclave of Siena minutes from town yet it is completely private. The views are breathtaking and the property is gorgeous.
The location was excellent, 30 minute walk (2.1 km) to the main gate of Siena or 15 minute bus ride (bus stop 25 meters from the house). The home is beautiful, lots of amenities, it was very rustic. The pool area could use a good trimming, the online photos showed the property better than it actually was but not too far off.
It was really the perfect place for us: 11 people and very different expectations but everyone found what he liked ….
You have a great pool, which we used every day, especially the kids. You are close to the city of Siena with all the culture but still don’t feel it, when you are in the house. It feels like living in the countryside . Barbara, the owner, and Michele who supports are very responsive and helpful. All in all it was the perfect holiday !
We had an amazing vacation with family and friends at this lovely property just outside Siena. The spacious with gorgeous infinity pool had everything we needed . Host Francesca Vigni anger husband Francesco love nearby, and were immediately responsive with questions, and suggestions for outings, restaurants, where to buy groceries, etc. we could walk into town (25 minutes) or take a bus right outside the villa, or take a taxi—all very easy. There is a charming and very good pizzeria/bar five minutes walk from the villa. We had the most relaxing and fun vacation in this wonderful part of Italy, Bella Toscana.

dear John and Maria, you have been wonderful guests, thank you for the respect you used our house and to have been such lovely guests, it has been a pleasure for me and Francesco to meet you!
My family of 7 had a lovely stay at il Boschetto. The house is as described with well- loved and charming older furniture. We didn't care. We had plenty of room to spread out.The view from the upstairs windows is beautiful. We knew the pool would not be open yet, but still spent time with cocktails out in the yard and enjoyed walking the property (saw wild boar, quail, owls!). My son cooked dinner on the outdoor brick grill. We had some chilly weather and made a fire in the living room. Michael (caretaker) was amazing and came quickly when we had an issue. The location is close to everything, but the road is not for walking as cars are driving fast and limited visibility.
If I could give this property 100 stars, I would! We had such a fabulous time on this trip. The house is so picturesque and feels like stepping into a dream. The grounds are meticulously maintained, the home was tidy and we were greeted by the kindest man upon arrival. Our kids spent their time wandering through the olive trees, playing endless ping pong tournaments and braving the colder weather and jumping in the pool. My husband and I enjoyed drinking espresso by the fireplace, watching the sunset over the Tuscan valley every night and wine tasting in the gardens. If we could live in this house, we would! We cannot wait to come back and, hopefully, spend an entire summer. Hosts: Incredibly responsive and helpful. They even contacted the bus station and local police on our behalf when our son's backpack was left on the bus. Transportation: As a family of six, the only change I would have made was to rent a car. The bus was very close and convenient, but with only speaking a "little" Italian and trying to navigate the bus schedule and apps, we spent many frustrating moments stuck without transportation. If you are traveling with older children or solo, the bus system is amazing, but takes patience to learn and understand. Our children are ages 4-10, so a car rental would have been a bit more convenient. Location: Siena is amazing and we felt very safe. The house is about a 10 minute bus ride from town. You can find a grocery store at the main city stop.

Thank you so much for your wonderful and detailed review! It was a real pleasure to host you, and I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay. You’re always welcome back anytime!
Our group of 5 spent a lovely week at the Il Boschetto in early May 2025 as our homebase for exploring the Hill towns of Tuscany by rental car. As mentioned in all reviews the Villa was spacious, nicely decorated with well worn antiques, with a well equipped kitchen. We had a great time and would recommend the property to others. However, here are a couple updates that would have helped us set our expectations for 2025 since most of the reviews I went by are 7 yrs old....We were disappointed to find that the infinity pool that is featured so highly in the property description was covered by an ugly black rubber tarp that had several inches of muddy water in it, spoiling the backyard views and attracting bugs. The host explained that the pool is actually open only between June and September. We had absolutely lovely warm late spring Tuscan weather during our week and would have enjoyed using the backyard more if the pool was not such an eye sore. The property is overgrown to the point where most views of the stunning countryside from the house windows are blocked by tree limbs. We found walking on the extremely narrow and winding roads of Siena far too dangerous to risk. We ended up driving and parking in town. Obtaining a bus ticket required walking into the tobacco store since tickets were not available to purchase on the bus or online.
We were 5 adults 60+ in age. The ease of catching a bus or walking into town is fabulous. The Pizzaria that is just down the road a short ways is a great place to have morning coffee and pastries or buy groceries and prepared food. We enjoyed every day !
My family stayed here for our visit to Siena and neighboring villages in Tuscany. The property was just as advertised, an old villa with antique furninings. The crown jewel is the outdoor spaces which include an infinity pool overlooking hills of olive groves. Great place for your groups visit to Siena.
séjour très agréable dans une villa superbement située
propriété de caractère dans un beau parc avec vue magnifique. mobilier et prestations de qualité. situation idéale près de Sienne et au coeur de la Toscane
We were pleasantly greeted at the location. All aspects of the property were well explained, as well as the surrounding businesses and points of interest. Our stay was comfortable, and relaxing.
We had a wonderful holiday, the villa felt very safe and clean in our new Covid world. The villa has all the amenities that you require and is perfectly positioned overlooking Siena, with the convenience of a bus stop just outside the house with very quick links to the City – so leaving the car at home and waiting for the bus to arrive was a visual pleasure!
Francesca is a delightful host, who goes that extra mile to make your stay in Siena pleasurable with an abundance of guidance and support, always responding to any questions very quickly.
One thing to mention, the beautiful gardens and extensive land are part of the Tuscan countryside (we had freshly picked figs daily) so take lots of Mossie Spray!
I hope you enjoy your holiday as much as we did – we look forward to returning…….
Piscina perfetta.
We had a great week in this characterful house, very spacious with a lovely infinity pool - beautiful views over a verdant valley. A five minute drive into the middle of stunning Siena, which has plenty of great restaurants. Apparently you could walk it in 20 minutes but it was very hot and rather hilly! Great local shop/pizzeria 5 mins walk away. Great restaurant recommendations from Francesca. Surrounded by amazing wine country of course, though sadly we couldn't book a tour because of Covid restrictions limiting numbers, so book early. Downside: crying out for a nice/paved outside seating area - the grass/ground around the pool is very rough so you need to wear shoes. Be prepared for mozzies.
The villa is beautiful and exactly as listed. It is immaculately clean, well stocked with everything you could possible need, and has large gathering areas with working fireplaces (which came in handy in the coolness of late October). For warmer weather the villa has a pool sitting in the midst of olive trees and an infinite view of Tuscan hills. The house is full of family memorabilia and history, and we had fun browsing the photos, books and found art objects in every room.
We had a wonderful time! This is an ideal location. You feel like you are in the middle of the Tuscan countryside - and the views from the upstairs windows is of rolling hills and olive trees - but you are so close to the center of Siena. There is a small local market within a easy five minute walk which we used daily for necessities and a chance to meet a few local residents and eating a quick meal. The property is large and so picturesque. There is a bus stop right outside the gates of the villa that makes day trips in the immediate area easy and so convenient.
Our hosts, Francesca and Francesco are delightful and truly made our trip special. Not only were they "there" by text anytime we had a question or need, they also arranged a couple of days that were highlights of our trip - a day of horse riding in the hills with a beautiful lunch afterwards, and a cooking class at a local farm where we had the chance to eat with the owner and family and see their cheese making, and meet their sheep, pigs, working dogs, and chickens. Francesco helped us get to and from the train station, and Francesca provided us hints for best ways to travel beyond Siena. Francesca told me she wants her guests to feel like they have a friend in Siena - and we absolutely did and do!
The house is ideal for families with spacious bedrooms, large and well appointed bathrooms, and plenty of spaces to gather and relax. Don't hesitate to stay here - and you will find new friends in Francesca and Francesco.
Francesca and Francesco delivered amazing service in their beautiful villa. We enjoyed a home cooked meal with several accommodations needed to our menu on our first night in beautiful Siena. They made several recommendations and tours are available. Siena Center is close and we enjoyed the food, people watching and the shops. Something for everyone. We spent a day relaxing at Sangiovani Thermal spa, highly recommend! Francesco took us into Orvieto and was a lot of fun to spend the day with as he took us to our next stop on our tour in Rome. Pool is beautiful and we enjoyed a great night sleep in their comfortable beds.
Such a great place. Slept 10 comfortably. Fully stocked kitchen with a lovely infinity pool. 20 min bus ride to Siena. Francesca was a delight to deal with and even booked us dinner for the first evening and brought us home made tiramisu. Fans in each room kept us cool. Very clean well functioning amenities. Thanks.
Perfetta accoglienza e disponibilità di francesca and family.

Beautiful villa with fantastic host
I cannot rate this villa and host, Francesca highly enough. The villa is stunning and in a fantastic location both looking over the Tuscan countryside but closely accessible to Siena centre. The villa was very clean and grounds well maintained.
Francesca was simply amazing and it felt like meeting a friend by the time we arrived. I highly recommend the additional services provided, the transfer from the airport was really helpful and meal cooked in the villa was a really special experience not to mention some of the most delicious food of our stay. We hope to come and stay again.
