Sanctuary cottage was exactly as promised. Beautifully clean and looked after. Every convenience and well equipped. Just a short walk to the village with its shops and harbour. Lovely coastal walk nearby. Would most certainly recommend. Host was easy to contact and very helpful.
We came to Scotland to watch the AIG Ladies Open and Anstruther looked a nice place to stay.
The accommodation was perfect and well equipped, other than no full length mirror in the house which is needed.
The house has underfloor heating so we were very comfortable and didn’t need to light the fire.
We would definitely recommend and Megan responded quickly to a couple of questions we had.
The property excellent but road noise in ground floor corner bedroom excessive. There is a lack of shelving and surfaces for drinks in the sitting area and small items of clothing in the bedrooms and for toiletries in the bathrooms. All the the mattresses are basic and uncomfortable which affected our sleep. Because of these issues we would not return.
Lovely property, great location with local shops, restaurants, harbour and beach, all within a few minutes walk.
Our stay over the New Year weekend was enjoyed by all 4 of us.
The property has been well finished and the furniture and kitchen is of good quality, though, in my opinion it is a little under furnished. The property is designed for 6 people but the lounge only seats 5 with 3 & 2 seater sofas, no problem for us as we were only 4. 2 of the bedrooms only have 1 bedside table and 1 lamp each. There are no surfaces to put anything down on in the bedrooms, for instance, in the upstairs bedroom, nowhere to do your hair or make-up, no mirrors in the bedroom at all. The mirror in the bathroom of the upstairs bedroom was very good but not suitable for hair drying, no socket nearby, or for make-up, too damp after 2 people having showered. It would definitely benefit from a dressing area and there is plenty of space for that. Also a chair would be helpful so that when you undress at night, clothes don't have to be left on the floor.
The kitchen was fairly well equipped, though would benefit from some oven/microwave proof dishes, a larger pot, a four slice toaster and a larger microwave, only small plates etc fitted in the microwave. Some champagne flutes would have been nice as we had to toast in the New Year with champagne in wine glasses, though, not too big a problem, we managed.
Overall, none of the above detracted from the comfort and enjoyment of our stay as we were only 4 adults. As it stands, the property would not be as comfortable if we had been 6 adults sharing and may be more suited to a family with some younger children.
Lovely, clean, well maintained property. Location was ideal for exploring the coast. Absolutely no complaints, would recommend this property and the host Megan without hesitation
