About this property
3 Chapel Cottages, Docking, Norfolk
Pretty as a picture, this archetypal Norfolk flint cottage in Docking has charm in abundance; cosy, warm, full of character and quietly tucked away in a peaceful loke. It's the perfect bolt hole for a relaxing getaway at any time of the year and only a short drive to the coast!
3 Chapel Cottages is a delightful mid-terrace Victorian cottage approached by a south facing courtyard garden. The downstairs is perfectly balanced with a delightful beamed sitting room to the front, flooded with natural light and warmed by a wood burning stove, and a well-equipped country style kitchen with dining area at the back, again with a beamed ceiling, and a stable door to open on a warm day. On the first floor are two inviting bedrooms - a good-sized double bedroom to the front of the cottage, which retains its original cast iron open fireplace, and a twin room with an attractive exposed brick wall. Both rooms share a lovely modern bathroom including a full size bath with high pressure rain shower. The sunny garden at the front of the cottage is fully enclosed with picket fence and shrubs, and is a lovely spot to enjoy a quiet drink, or two, and bite to eat.
Docking is a bustling village, with excellent local amenities - a supermarket and post office, a fish and chip shop, and pub - and also hosts a weekly farmer's market with stallholders including a baker, fishmonger, butcher, greengrocer and a stall selling cheeses, cakes and preserves. Nest Farmhouse, located in the village, is a seasonal British restaurant from the team behind the Michelin starred London restaurant, St. Barts. The village is perfectly placed for the North Norfolk coast, with its long and fine sandy beaches, the nearest being at Brancaster - just four miles away - and is a great base for getting out and about exploring the villages of rural Norfolk too. This property is also available to book as a Sleeps two option under 3 Chapel Cottages (2).
