It is located on Historic Ground, in the most central district of Berlin, Mitte, a stone’s throw from the famous Friedrichstrasse and from the main sights of this wonderful city (Potsdamer Platz, Museums’ island and so on), that means shopping, restaurants, markets, subway but in the same time you'll sleep on the top of the building facing Berlin roofs.
You'll be welcomed in a bright penthouse and your sight will be caught at once by the panoramic window opening on the private terrace facing the Checkpoint Charlie, perfect for enjoying a drink from the Berlin's rooftops.

Super location - close to U Bahn, but also walkable to sights in just a few minutes. Lovely outdoor terrace with a great view. Great amenities. Good restaurants close by. Would stay here again!

Fun un Unter de Linden

We so very much enjoyed Berlin-- fascinating city with a tortured and difficult history (e.g. Fascism, WWII destruction, Berlin Wall). Our visit was even more enjoyable-- with the conveniently located and comfortable apartment. It was perfect for a couple-- the kitchen had all we needed and the bathroom was clean and well kept.

Short Stay

We stayed at the apartment during a short visit to Berlin. The apartment was in a great location within walking distance of the subway and numerous tourist attractions. Communication with the host was easy and locating and accessing the unit was easy.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this beautiful penthouse in the heart of Berlin. The property manager was responsive and communicative. The apartment is centrally located and is even better than the photos. A great experience.

Interesting experience

Location great. Elevator a lifesaver. Poor connection with man with keys upon arrival. Was not informed parking on street cost Euro 4.00 an hour!!! Stove didn't work - NO Instructions. NO microwave. NO info on recycling. One of glass doors on Schrank in bedroom was cracked. Shower didn't function properly. We survived, but will NOT return to this apt.

A luxury penthouse???

The location of the apartment is very good; the house is silent and in a good shape; the people I was in contact with when booking the apartment and checking in and out the apartment were friendly and flexible: But unfortunately the apartment itself is far away from luxury: it is simply furnished and in a need of a quick renovation or redecoration: My expectations were very high after reading the previous reviews but I wonder if I really was in the same apartment: The apartment should be no smoking but there was a rather strong smell of cigarette smoke when entering it: All in all a dissapointment:

Great Location and Safe, Clean Building

Erik and Allesandro are very responsive. Our flight arrived a bit late and' Erik waited for us in the apartment. We are so sorry that we did not have exact change for the tax. Erik spotted us 1 euro, thank you Erik. Please ensure you have exact change to provide on check in for the city tax so Erik doesn't have to spot you too, lol. Also, if there is an issue with the toilet flushing, check the water knobs on the left side of the shower. We did not touch them, but had this issue, and the owner quickly sent a very nice repairman to rectify the situation. Washer, dishwasher, and microwave were easy to figure out their use, and there was even a drying rack, which I like, since I seldom dry my clothes in the dryer. Recommend throwing out your recycle before you are ready to check out, so you know where the area in the garage is, before you are rushed if trying to catch transportation, etc. We called a taxi to take us to the train station and the taxi was there in less than five minutes. Note that there is Lidl store only a few blocks away, which is very inexpensive for all your needs. The coffee maker that was there when we visited in March 2023 was a normal, #4 cone-shaped filter maker, which I prefer to K Kups or Nespresso cups. The fold out futon in the living room is pretty comfortable, so no worries if you are not a couple and not sharing the bed. There is a nice little Italian restaurant around the corner (make a left out of the building and then the next left)

The apartment is in a fantastic location. As other reviews mentioned, the apartment could use a refresh in bedding (pillows) and the seating in the living room is very uncomfortable. Additionally, the closet door is broken/couldn't be opened all the way, which meant we could only use 1/3 of the closet. In this apartment, the closet had the only drawers/places to store your clothes. We ended up using the dining table to lay our clothes out, which was not ideal.

Prime Location, Stunning View, Let Down by Poor Maintenance and HostingThis apartment boasts a central, quiet location with a beautiful view, and is very quiet, but neglect of basic amenities spoils the experience. The kitchen lacks wine glasses, has chipped crockery, and a long-broken kitchen light despite prior reviews flagging it. The bench top cutlery holder has no knives— flimsy red ones found elsewhere.Bedding is inadequate for a double bed, with just two thin single duvets that slip off at night. Pretty miserable for a couple. Towels are cheap, thin and the few provided were insufficient for our 6-day stay. We requested more linen through Johansen the greeter, who contacted the host, but we received no response or action—extremely disappointing.Photos are deceptive: the large speakers pictured don’t work, so bring a Bluetooth speaker if you need music. Bedside “tables” are merely solid wooden blocks, offering no practical storage. The mirror wardrobe doors are broken and the left hand side jumped off its tracks. Most of the outstanding issues a handyman could fix quickly with minimal cost.With a little care and investment, this could be a fantastic rental. As it stands, only two stars.

Nice area, not a penthouse

While area and communication were wonderful, the listing was a bit misleading. This is a one-bedroom flat on the top floor, not a penthouse and certainly not an exclusive penthouse. Parking onsite is also listed, which is actually not true. Street parking is available for a hefty price, if you can find a spot. Local metro is close, affordable and easy to navigate

The location is superb - close to attractions, restaurants and shops.Excellent for 2 people.Beds were a bit uncomfortable and some of the amenities need upgrading ie: toilet seat.The host was very quick to respond to inquiries.

Très bel appartement

Très bon séjour dans l'appartement d'Alessandra ! Nous avons été reçu par Adam qui nous a permis une arrivée plus tôt et qui est très facilement joignable en cas de soucis. L'appartement est très lumineux, bien équipé, propre, avec une literie confortable, et sa situation en hauteur offre une belle vue loin des bruits de la rue. L'appartement est très bien situé. Great location

This place is in a fantastic location. So close to everything you can walk. It does have everything you need. However there are a few things to work on. The shower is disconnecting from the wall, it’s rusted through. The futon is uncomfortable to sit on as a couch. The dining chairs are so small and hard they too are uncountable so we brought in the outside chairs. The bed is good but needs new pillows.

Basically good but could be improved.

Very good location and the apartment was a good size; however, the general décor and facilities could be improved; broken shower, TV didn’t work, cracked mirror, curtains hooks loose, etc. There was also a strong smell of tobacco in the apartment that took a couple of days to clear.Overall, it was an enjoyable stay as the location is excellent and apartment was basically good but it didn’t give a good impression on arrival and I do think the price was a little high given the tired furnishing and décor. Regarding the check-in, I’d suggest the owner makes clear that they communicate via Whatapp for the check-in (and not just assume that everyone uses this app).

Great location

The apartment was small but clean and efficient. 10 min walk to grocery store, about 6 minutes to the Stadtmitte subway. Many excellent restaurants within blocks. We had a perfect stay in Berlin. We had perfect weather so never needed to check out the heat/ac. In fact, we just had the windows open - not even noisy despite being so central.

Communication was excellent. Very easy to access. Perfect location. It’s a perfect space for 2 people. 3 tops. Lovely balcony- we enjoyed it every day. The space was clean, bed comfortable.. When we opened our first apartment it was for the immediate love we felt for a city in full swing, Berlin, in a marvelous location in the center of the historic West Berlin.
We were dazzled by each point of this city, by its diversity and we have continued appreciating its charm so much to open a second apartment in the center, a penthouse overlooking the Checkpoint Charlie.
We did not stop, neither I nor my family, which I am privileged to have by my side in the construction of this project. A project that is not only about apartments, but also about targets and unstoppable passion.
From Berlin we decided to expand our adventure in Italy, and where else but in the Eternal City, next to the Vatican City, surrounded by faith, by mystery and by the history of the Unforgetable Rome.
Our apartments are our home, stylish and discreet, made up of people whose primary goal is the satisfaction of our guests.
We hope to share with you our adventure.

Checkpoint Charlie is one of our favorite places in Berlin, close to everything, the Brandenburg Gate, the magnificent Gendarmenmarkt..and much more.
When we saw this penthouse for the first time we loved it immediately.
The terrace is gorgeous and the view iss breathtaking!

The terrace at the Checkpoint Charlie is definitely the highlight of the apartment, not to mention the internal characteristics of furniture, marble bathroom, the shower with rain effect.
