Blacksmiths Cottage is an ideal base for walking, touring and relaxing anytime of the year.. All on the Ground Floor:

Kitchen area: Electric Oven, Electric Hob, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer
Bedroom: Kingsize (5ft) Bed
Shower Room: Double Shower, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. LPG heating, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Initial logs included for wood burner.. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. Blacksmiths Cottage offers a cosy stay within the delightful little village of Gillamoor, located just outside the market town of Kirkbymoorside. The cottage has been carefully converted to retain all its features from the days when it was the local blacksmiths shop, with its original oak beams, reclaimed brickwork and the fantastic blacksmiths forge fireplace.
All on the ground level, the property is ideal for couples who want to come away and relax whilst also having the opportunity to explore what this beautiful location has to offer. The cottage offers a very comfortable living area which is open plan with the kitchen and dining area, along with a good-sized double bedroom and small bathroom.
The gorgeous, unspoilt village of Gillamoor is famous for it’s ‘surprise view’ that reveals a breath-taking panoramic view across Douthwaite Dale to the moors above Farndale and Hutton Le Dale. Nearby you have a village inn which is a two-minute stroll from the cottage, serving local good priced food along with fine ales. The market town of Kirkbymoorside is three miles down the road offering local shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. A little further afield you also have the lovely towns of Helmsley and Thirsk, along with the fantastic North York Moors giving you an abundance of beautiful scenic walks and bike trails. The cottage is also well placed to visit many of the local visitor attractions including Riveaulx Abbey, Nunnington Hall and Castle Howard. Blacksmiths Cottage is cosy and welcoming at any time of the year.
