We had a lovely stay in June. The cottage is well equipped and cosy. The weather allowed us to enjoy the sunny courtyard too. The Cornmill is perfectly located for the Moors and the coast, so we made the most of a variety of walking locations. Thanks to Chris and Karen for all your information on the local area. We would definitely stay with you again if we’re in North Yorkshire.
The cottage was lovely, very well appointed and comfortable. There was plenty of bowls and plates, however, only two mugs! Great set of pans and utensils and good quality hob and oven.
We enjoyed the peaceful setting of the cottage which was also very close to local places to walk and visit.
Our only recommendation, and it is a small one, was that it would have been good to have had condiments and other little extras in the cupboard rather than absolutely nothing, as we do choose to cook in our cottage. Also, whilst there were plenty of bins, these did not have a bag to line them, and in the interests of hygiene, I would prefer that there was one there. We bought our own and used them in order to keep the bins clean.
Overall, a great cottage, great setting with the millstream close by making it a relaxing place to stay.
Beautiful building in fantastic spot for sightseeing. Kirkbymoorside has all the facilities necessary and you can walk from the property.
Spent a wonderful week there, will go back.
lovely, clean, cottage with every think you could need in a beautiful setting, and only a 10 minute walk from the village with shops and pubs so close.

Wonderful, cosy Mews Cottage
Just spent a lovely week in the Mews Cottage; Karen and Chris are very welcoming hosts. The Cottage is clean, nicely finished with all you could need for a week away. The shower was particularly welcome after a good walk on the moors.
Kirby Mills itself is ideally situated on the edge of the North York Moors, with the lovely towns of Helmsley and Pickering on either side. The North York Moors Railway from Pickering to Whitby is a must and if you are happy to travel a little further the National Trust Fountain Abbey and Studley Royal Gardens are well worth a visit.
Thank you for a lovely week

PARFAIT !

About the host
Hosted by Karen & Chris Tinkler
We live in the converted watermill on the other side of the courtyard from the cottage and are happy to answer any questions you have about the cottage or the area.
Why they chose this property
The Cornmill is in Kirby Mills, just a short (12 minute) walk from the centre of the historic market town on Kirkbymoorside and just off the A170 which runs from Thirsk through Helmsley and Pickering onto Scarborough. We are on the edge of the North Yorks. Moors, only 20 minutes from Castle Howard and 40 minutes from both the coast and the historic city of York.
What makes this property unique
Guests are welcome to use our garden (next to the car park) and paddocks for leisurely afternoons and barbecues. We can also offer cottage guests breakfast in the cornmill by prior arrangement and can provide laundry services for a nominal fee.
