About the host
Hosted by Denise Pallis
Hi and welcome to Camp Cottage. I'm Denise and the owner of this magical cottage. My father in law bought this cottage in the late 1970's as he was an artist and just wanted to paint and spend time up there taking in the view and wildlife. I've two dogs a miniature schnauzer called Latte and Belle a 14 year old Jack Russell. They think the garden is theirs, but your dogs are very welcome as they will love the freedom just like my two. As a family we all love to get up there as often as possible and to share it with our friends. Now I'd like you to benefit the experience of Camp Cottage and the beautiful Herefordshire countryside. If you have any questions please ask me or follow Camp Cottage on Facebook
Why they chose this property
The cottage is unique, no neighbours, no roads nearby, no city noises, no light pollution. Just peace, maybe the sound of a tractor, or a pheasant, or sheep when they are in the adjacent field. One visitor to the cottage identified 40 different birds from the garden. The cottage is perfect for a couple and 2 dogs, it spacious enough for either of you to have your own space whether it's one of you in the dining room or the other relaxing in the studio/lounge. I've made this cottage home from home and what I would expect of a smart cottage. Lovely white linen sheets, white towels, slippers, Netflix on the TV, Wifi, Nespresso machine and of course a dishwasher. Who wants to go on holiday and wash up!
What makes this property unique
The views are spectacular. In the morning the mist rises from the Wye River and sends out a mystical aura over the area. In the evening the sun sets to the right hand side of the garden, with a glass of wine in your hand it's the perfect moment to watch the sun set. As there is no light pollution, the sky glows with stars on a clear day and people have brought their telescopes to the cottage to capture those moments.
So there are no neighbours only sheep or a passing walker who will be on the Wye Valley Walk.
