Nursery Cottage

The cottage was lovely and welcoming and it helped that for our five nights stay we had wonderful weather. The view from the large living room window was captivating. Everything was very clean and the dining/kitchen was excellent for cooking and enjoying meals. We would have no hesitation in returning.

Peaceful and relaxing.

After having to cancel our original booking due to a family death, all involved were very accommodating in rearranging our booking. Property fulfilled our expectations of a peaceful relaxing time away. Owner very willing to answer any questions if needed. Most enjoyable time away.

Views galore!

Excellent location with stunning views. Cottage is spacious, well laid out and well furnished: very comfortable and relaxing. Communication was excellent both prior to and during the stay. A great place to use as a base to explore the amazing area and then relax with a wee glass or two watching the sun go down over the gorgeous views of the water and hills.

Nursery Cottage, dog friendly

Spotlessly clean. Everything you need. No complaints. Garden was great for the dog. Only thing lacking is a mirror near a plug socket if you need to use a hairdryer.

A very special cottage!

This was our third time coming back to Nursery Cottage and it was as lovely as ever. It’s the perfect base for exploring the local area, our favourites this year were Puck’s Glen and Ardentinny beach on a sunny day. We also got to try food at The Strone Inn which was delicious! Jo couldn’t be more helpful and accommodating, we feel very lucky to get to stay in this gem of a cottage, it really is a special place.

A perfect place to chill out

This was our second visit to Nursery cottage, unfortunately the weather was very similar to our previous visit in December (except the rain was warmer this time). As before, the cottage was very clean and comfortable. It has everything you need for a peaceful stay. This time we were entertained daily by a red squirrel raiding the bird feeder. It's the perfect place to chill out. We will definitely visit again.

Lovely setting

Stayed here with two small dogs for a week. Lovely location and quiet. Cottage fully equipped. Unfortunately garden not secure for small dogs to roam freely as can get under the fence in places, so we had to tether ours.

Relaxing, peaceful break.

We had a lovely week at Nursery Cottage. The cottage is in an ideal location, lovely quiet spot yet very close to places to visit, and supermarkets just down the road in Dunoon for anything you might need. The weather was kind to us, so the view from the sitting room and garden was really special. Places for eating out just down the road too. Our dog had super time running around the enclosed garden, which was a big plus for us as we don't allow her off lead when we're out and about away from home.

Nursery Cottage

tHE COTTAGE WAS SUPERBLY POSITIONED The cottage was in a superb position, very clean and welcoming. The only adverse comments i would make is that there were carpet nails protruding from the carpets on the door entrances and were quite painful when stood on,this was solved by placing rugs over the area. Apart from that everything was fine.

Perfect cottage in a beautiful location

The cottage was perfect for us, 2 adults, a preteen and a dog. A cosy feel with a view you can never tire of. Loved sitting on the veranda with a morning cuppa, just beautiful. We had our paddle boards and there was no shortages of places close by to launch. We took a day trip to the Isle of Bute and visited all the places close by, Puk’s Glen, Benmore Botanic Gardens, Kilmun Arboretum, so much to see and do, truly stunning location. We didn’t do much cooking but the cottage has everything you need, including some essentials like, salt, sauces, tea, coffee etc. There was plenty dish towels, dish cloths, washing up liquid etc and plenty bath towels, soap, shampoo and conditioner. Over all absolutely everything has been thought of. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Really lovely stay

We had a 10 day stay in the cottage and found it a lovely, peaceful place to hang out, especially in bad weather etc with the log burner and wonderful ever changing view of the tidal river and mountains further afield. The house has been uodated with bare floorboards in many oarts. The kitchen and bathroom are nice sizes and modern. The only 2 niggles were that the garden isnt securely enclosed for dogs although there is a full boundary, short metal fence, our dog is more than capable of springing over it! Plus it has bits underneath that have holes. The other was that we found the beds didnt have the best supporting mattresses for us. Otherwise a very relaxed stay, thank you!

Lovely cottage with amazing views

Really enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean and spacious with lots of modern facilities. The large window in the lounge really accentuated the view out onto the river and the mountains beyond. Some complimentary wine and shortbread didn’t do any harm either! Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely, but...

Overall we loved this bungalow and especially the view from the large sitting room window. Excellent for watching the wildlife! And the red squirrels topped the bill. Our two dogs were also entranced!! Our big bugbear was that the garden was advertised as dog friendly, which it would be for bigger dogs, but our two jack russells easily fitted under the fence in many places. This meant we had to watch them and follow them round the garden all the times. Which was a real pain. Our only other gripe was that the bed in the back bedroom was rather uncomfortable as you could feel all the springs. Nothing a mattress topper wouldn't sort.

Fantastic

Perfect peaceful location with beautiful views. Comfortable, clean well equipped cottage. Just a couple of suggestions- a mirror in bedroom would be good and an outside washing line (there is an outside line that is covered with a lean to)

Lovely quiet cottage

A lovely situated cottage. We watched the small river in front of the cottage ebb and flow , with herons , ducks and swans. To the back of the cottage was a forest and we saw red squirrels and daily visits by yellow wagtails. The cottage was situated so you could get easy ferries to Bute and back to the outskirts of Glasgow on our return journey home. A good cottage experience.

Nursery Cottage- lovely property and host

Our stay at nursery cottage was perfect from beginning to end. We were in need of some much needed down time from a busy year and we could not think of a better location to achieve this. Our host, Jo, was an absolute pleasure do deal with and reflected the ambience of her lovely property, which had such a warm and homely feel to it. With stunning views over the Glen's and river, you can either sit in the living room with a brew and let the view change right infant of you at your convenience or get out there and explore it on foot for yourself. Nursery Cottages location was ideal for peace and tranquility, but offers a short drive to Dunoon where we found everything we needed. Can't recommend this place enough.
