This is a well-kept, 1,000 square foot cabin that sleeps six (6!) and has an AMAZING view! Beautiful sunsets occur nightly, serving as an evening highlight just out the front door! Mix in the songs of the loons, and your stress can wash away. Pequaywan Lake is a private lake with no public access, so it is very quiet, beyond the loons and occasional pontoon. We offer a swim raft and a “Lily Pad” swimming mat. The water is warm and clear for swimming, so plan on jumping in! The bottom of the lake is solid, but is a sand/gravel mix, so swim shoes are good bet to bring with for your time in the water. Additionally, we offer a pontoon for rent along with the cabin, available to renters for $75/day and fuel is included in that cost. Due to this low, accessible pontoon rental fee, we do require it to be rented for your entire stay when you add this option – but note that we do not charge you for your check-in or check-out day. Be sure to contact us with additional questions or for more information regarding the pontoon rental. To ensure that Pequaywan Lake stays clean and free of invasive species, we do not allow guests to bring their own boats. The best fishing on the lake can be found right off our 32’ dock where walleye, small mouth bass, and northern pike can be caught. The location of the cabin is very convenient; it is only 40 minutes from Duluth’s Miller Hill Mall, 45 Minutes from Duluth’s Canal Park – the area’s major tourist on Lake Superior, and the quaint city of Two Harbors is 35 minutes away, with lots of shopping, hiking and tourist areas. Looking to take in other sites? It is only a short 45-minute drive to Gooseberry Falls and then Split Rock Light House is just up Hwy 61 from there. Food and drink can be found at the Pequaywan Inn which is four miles away. They offer a full menu and full bar. Hugo's Bar/Convenience Store offers beer and setups, as well as a limited menu. They also have bait/tackle/propane tank refills/minimal groceries/gas. Hugo’s is seven miles away to the north. See the screen shot in our pictures for locations of these establishments. Electronic entertainment and amenities: our cabin has satellite and Roku television and BluRay player for rainy days. Wireless Internet is also provided. Looking for a relaxing place to unwind after running Grandma’s Marathon? We’ve got you covered out of the hustle and bustle of Duluth during that packed, exciting weekend, but with easy access to the fun! Spring, Summer and Fall Activities: This is a location where you can have fun as the leaves turn green and all the way until they are an incredible, gorgeous array of colors! There are hundreds of miles of ATV trails right out the back door. St. Louis County allows ATV travel on the road ways so getting to and from the trails and forest roads is a breeze. We offer a large driveway that can easily accommodate trucks and trailers. For the hunting enthusiasts, the Cloquet Valley Forest area offers some of the best grouse hunting territory in the state with thousands of acres of public land right out the back door. Hikers and back country bikers can drive less than five miles and access the Superior Hiking Trail. See the screen shot in our pictures for information on the trails. Fall Colors are unbelievable in this area; a perfect way to enjoy the early fall in the northland. Winter Sports: Yes, even when the snow flies this is a place you want to be! Snowmobiles: The groomed snowmobile trail is within one mile from of the cabin with easy, flat ditch access. Enjoy the Pequaywan /Brimson trails or use them as access to the North Shore Trail or Iron Range trails for longer adventures. In our photos, we have provided a screen shot of where we are located in relation to the snowmobile trails. As stated above, we offer a large driveway that can easily accommodate your trucks and snowmobile trailers. Cross Country Skiing is nearby. A short five-mile drive will bring you to the parking lot of the “Mother Bear Ski Trail” a great St. Louis County trail. See the screen shot in our pictures for information on the trails. Snow shoeing opportunities are also very close by and can be done at the same location as the “Mother Bear Ski Trail” or by accessing the thousands of acres of public land that is virtually surrounding the cabin area. Again, check the screen shot in our pictures for information on the trails. Cell phone coverage is good with AT&T, but Verizon is unavailable at this time in this location. We also have internet with Wi-Fi that can be used for VoIP calling and messaging. Please see your manufacturer for setup. We are also pet friendly. We offer two smaller “porta kennels” in the garage and offer a large (5'x10') outdoor kennel for your convenience. Book your Pequaywan Getaway today!

We really enjoyed the beautiful lake views and the wood burning fireplace. It was the perfect place to put down our phones and reconnect to each other!

Thank you Rebecca. We are glad you enjoyed the property!
We had a wonderful stay at this lake cabin. It was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. The location on the lake was perfect. The host was very responsive. We would definitely recommend it!
Our family of four had a blast here. Easy drives to Duluth and Gooseberry Falls for adventure days and the property was clean and the perfect size for us. Top notch fishing and the pontoon was wonderful to have. Would definitely stay again!
We had a wonderful time staying at the Pequaywan Getaway. It’s a very cozy cabin with immaculate views. We stayed in the main bedroom and my husband and I were pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the bed was. I would recommend staying here as it felt like a relaxing escape from the real world!
Great lake and location. Cabin is footsteps from the lake. Boat rental was reasonable and well worth it. Caught loads of fish off the dock and from the boat.
This cabin was beautiful, clean, and well-appointed. Check-in and check-out was easy, and communication with the owner was great. It was wonderful to hear the loons on the lake at night!
Oh my..the view of the lake was stunning! The property was a great location to nearby State Parks! A nice, peaceful location. We enjoyed every minute!!
Beautiful views of the lake, very quiet and private, full kitchen, dog friendly. We wee close to Duluth and Grand Marias. beds were comfy. Rustic cabin looking vibe. We were there for fall colors and to see waterfalls. We went up to Canada for a few hours. Beautiful place to recharge . We have Verizon for phones and we knew our reception would be spotty. We enjoyed every minute
Had a very nice stay. Place was clean, comfortable beds. Screen door was a little tricky opening and closing. Lake was beautiful and my 11 year old spent all his time in the kayak provided. Spent every morningbon the dock with my coffee watching and listening to a family of loons. Took the pontoon out for a cruise around the lake. Very nice stay, would visit again.
Great spot for a quick weekend getaway. Cozy cabin for a cool summer weekend. Lake is beautiful.

We live in nearby Hermantown with our 3 school aged children. We bought the cabin so they could enjoy the lake life as they grow up. With busy schedules, we try to get to the cabin a couple times a month and we want to share it with others when we are not able to enjoy it ourselves.
Why they chose this property
The best sunsets you can find with nightly sounds of loons calling.
What makes this property unique
Conveniently located between the Duluth,Two Harbors and North Shore areas with privacy to boot.
