About this property

Croyde cottage with direct access to beach path, close to pubs and shops.

Greenfields Cottage used to be the workshop of William Budd the village carpenter back in the 18th century. The Pub next door is named Billy Budds for this very reason! The cottage is accessed directly from the footpath to Croyde beach. There is parking for one car included on the other side of the footpath in a small private car park. If you are bringing more than one car there is a large village car park for a small fee.

Changeover day is Friday in peak holiday times, Off peak, Changeover day can be flexible, please enquire.

Downstairs-
A hall way with coat hooks and shoes storage leads to an open plan living , dining, kitchen area. Underfloor heating throughout.
Kitchen equipped with dishwasher, oven, hob, fridge freezer, washing machine.
There are Ccomfy sofas ( one of which can be used as a king size sofa bed)and a dining table for 6.
There is a downstairs toilet and wash basin.

Upstairs
bedroom 1 - Double bed, fitted wardrobe and chest of drawers.

bedroom 2- 2 single beds, chest of drawers, door which leads into private courtyard area.

bedroom 3 -bunkbeds and chest of drawers.

We can provide a travel cot free of charge

Family bathroom with heated towel rail and shower over bath.

Extra large cupboard/wardrobe on landing for storage.

A sunny courtyard with outdoor seating for 6 people,
BBQ
An outdoor wetroom for wetsuit and board storage with an electric shower for rinsing straight off after your surf.

We live next door and have a rather friendly fox red lab who seems to think everyone is keen to give him a stroke! Do let us know if this is a problem and we will try to stop him wandering over during your stay. Our garden runs alongside your cottage.


Croyde-
Croyde is a chocolate box quaint village with one of the best surf breaks in the UK. There a a wealth of choice for eating out, and also some incredible food trucks keep cropping up for hassle free evening beach picnics.
We are on traffic free footpath to Croyde beach, its a 5-10 min walk from your front door to the beach. Easy with a surf board. For keen walkers from Croyde beach you can pick the SW coastal path. Either head South to the panoramic endless sands of Saunton or the staggeringly beautiful Baggy point and round to Putsborough beach.
There are so many beautiful place during your stay in north devon.
I have lived here for nearly 2 decades and can give you the heads up on some great secret spots...shhhhh!

Great stay in Croyde

We stayed for 4 nights in the cottage, and it made a lovely change to our usual caravan. Great location, right near the centre of the village, and just a short walk to the beach. The host left us a lovely welcome gift of Prosecco & cake, as well as having towels and blankets available. We would definitely stay again.

October half term break.

Gorgeous break

We had an amazing stay at Bobby’s house which is in a brilliant location 10 minutes from the beach and right next to great restaurants, ice cream shops and pubs. Myself and 4 teens were really comfortable in the house (beds were great) and had a very chilled few days. The sun came out too which always helps! I really hope we’ll return!

Bobby was so kind and friendly. She’s an excellent host and genuinely wants you to enjoy your stay. The cottage is really pretty, and well kitted out with everything you need. Overall photo of cottage is Bobby’s house, so confused at start was looking for thatched cottage. Turns out it’s the garage conversion attached. Not a problem as nicely done inside. Bobby very nice person and very helpful. Patio area photo must be old as there’s now a tree and large bush on it. Still enjoyed stay, builders close so bit of noise first thing, 8:30 onwards in week. Close to all amenities so very handy.

Gem of a cottage in fantastic location

This is a delightful cottage - we loved it - cosy, beautifully designed and very comfortable. It's in an amazing location, right in the heart of Croyde, but just off the main street and down a small lane, with direct access (10min walk) to the beach. We loved being able to walk everywhere. The lounge is lovely to relax in and the kitchen has all you need. There's also a small, sunny outdoor courtyard with table and chairs. Bobby was a lovely host, super friendly accommodating and quick to respond. A gift of fudge and wine on arrival was much appreciated. We would love to come back one day.

Lovely cottage, perfect location

The cottage is well equipped with everything you need for your stay with lots of lovely little touches, such as books and games which my son loved! The location is perfect, right on the path down to the beach, which is less than a 10 minute walk (if you have young children halfway between the beach and the cottage is Ruda holiday park which has a park/play area. The cottage is minutes away from the pubs and restaurants. The host was very helpful with great communication and made lots of suggestions for rainy day activities. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Highly recommend!

The property was better than described and Bobby is so kind and helpful, we had an amazing two weeks in this beautiful location. Definitely plan to visit again and highly recommend this rental for a relaxing family holiday. Croyde is a pretty village with amazing restaurants and makes the perfect base to explore North Devon.

Lovely pleasant week and perfect for what we wanted, the only thing I will say is you cannot take dogs onto the main part of Croyde beach from May to September!! The point of booking the location was because I had a dog! Saunton beach which was a 3 min drive in the car is dog friendly and Woolacombe beach is too

Great location!

We had a great time here, being just a few steps away from all the shops and pubs and a 10-min walk to the beach along the private paths. It’s a very old cozy cottage so lots of quirkiness. Worth noting that one side of the house backs directly on to the Billy Budds beer garden: the glazing was very efficient at reducing the noise and it didn’t bother us at all but you can hear passers by and chatting sometimes, so may not be suitable for those who like peace and quiet. The only time we heard it was during a live acoustic music evening, but we sat outside in the garden to enjoy it in the sun! And the pubs are shut by 10:30-11 so it’s not very late. The host was lovely and helpful and right next door for any assistance.

I am an artist specialsing in seascapes and love to walk miles with my dog along the stunning north devon coast , inspiration is never hard to find. Sea swimming and sun bathing heavily feature in the summer months! Evening beach fires a must! I can let you know where they are allowed.

Why they chose this property

I f you are looking for a central location in Croyde within an easy walk of the beach with pubs and village ameneties on your doorstep this is the perfect cottage. There is an almost festival feel in the summer holidays in the village centre, with food trucks and occasionaly live music. This isn't a cottage for seclusion and peace... although courtyard and pool are perfect for that! This is where you come to be in the heart of village life and have fun!
