About this property

Large 6 bedroom house with fired wood hot tub

A lovely large 6 bedroom house, converted from the old village car repair shop, into a characteristic holiday home, including many fine features. There is a large glass floor area in the kitchen, filled with an array of seasoned logs, a lounging area complete with one entire wall of glass, as well as multiple balconies on the first and second floors.

We have 3 good sized double bedrooms, with 2 of them having private balconies, one twin room, and two single rooms. There is also a full size cot for a baby. There is a bathroom on each floor - 3 floors in total. The dining area has a large oak table, which seats 10 persons.

The house has been completely renovated, keeping as much as the old original characteristic features, such as wooden floor boards.

The house is situated in an elevated position, close to a beautiful lake (500m walk) a riverside bar and another cafe and ice cream shop (200m walk), and a small supermarket selling the best chocolate croissants freshly cooked each morning (200m walk). Also close by walking is a fantastic pizzeria (450m) and Sterk restaurant up on the hill (650m) both with seating and lovely views across the river..

A little further, within 2km walking is the train station + restaurant. Here you can take the open top car train through the mountains to Lake Bled. There are also a couple more bars as you walk around the lake.

Parking for 3 small cars (see photo) - 15 metres of drive. The drive is a little steep (see photos) and you may have trouble parking on this drive if you have a low level sports car. There is also parking for one further car on the House behind.

We have a lovely 8 seater fired wood hot tub, however this is NOT AVAILABLE DURING JULY AND AUGUST..(and must be booked in advance for bookings of a week or more) but you can use the lovely lake close by to cool down. Please note this municipality has silence rules after 22:00 outside. Please bear this in mind if you are a large group as you are not on a Tourist resort! You are amongst nature with real locals .

OUR CANCELLATION POLICY
If you need to cancel after you have made your booking, and we can rebook your period, we will give you a full refund. You may still be liable to pay VRBO fees though.

Thank you very much Alberto for your kind words, and your excellent communication. You are fabulous guests, and we would welcome you back to our house at anytime. We are glad you had a lovely time, despite the horrendous weather you experienced, which instead of being in a lovely elevated position, with the sun shining, and a nice breeze, you were met with pouring rain, blocked roads, huge storms across the region with many places on red alert and gusts of winds that creates so much damage. Hope to see you back sometime…

Thank you Otto, My advert is clear that we have eco-friendly air source heat pump heating. Which is on 24 hours a day. This is how these new government backed energy efficient systems work. It is not possible to move the temperature up and down quickly. When I showed you around the house on arrival, I explained this, and asked you not to play with the controls. During your stay I had notifications that you were changing the temperature to 26 degrees. I was concerned that you would break it, and I asked you not to play with the controls. You asked me to set the temperature to 22 degrees, which I did, but it takes best part of a week to heat to another 2 degrees, which it did. We have had guests over New Year, and actually after you, and all have said how warm the house is, and actually how nice it is, better than normal central heating that can cause dryness. The rules in Slovenia regarding rubbish, are set by the government, and are therefore not just my house rules, info also on the fridge. ) I am surprised the police who frequently stop opposite did not come over to the house to remind you). There is no rubbish collection, and you cannot mix your waste. You have to recycle it in the bins located in many places around the village (all minutes’ walk so that everyone can use them) and, like everyone else does use them. Instead, you put all your rubbish together, piled up about 20 big bags, which resulted in my cleaner having to drive to the rubbish dump with 3 trips. When you visit a country, you have to abide by the government rules, regardless of whether you are on holiday or not. These are not my rules! We allow you to check out remotely, for ease, so that you can leave at your leisure. We activate the camera (and did activate the camera) on your day of departure which shows you checking out, and also that no one entered the house after you left. I have photos of the house taken a couple of hours before you arrived, and before showing you around the house. Your main damage was the drawing over 2 of our sofa cushions, which did not come out in the wash. This meant that we have had to buy completely new sofa covers, which cost more than your deposit. There was no small child in your party, so I do not believe this could have been done by mistake. Happy to show those photos to anyone that would like to see them. Then of course other smaller things, such as thermostat for the hot tub missing, (which normally I would not even mention). The cleaning you paid for covered 12 hours of cleaning. It took two cleaners 10 hours each – 20 hours in total to clear up after your party, and I have the photos to show the unreasonable state the house was left in, alcohol bottles under beds, in bedside drawers. Our house rules are one small dog that does not lose hair. They are our rules, you did not stick to them, even though you agreed to them before booking. We do obviously have photographic evidence before you arrived, and after you left and these were shown to VRBO. My sofas are just a year old, and I have had many clients, all being absolutely brilliant, and 5* reviews. I am sorry that the was not hot enough for you. Perhaps if you had checked this before booking, we would not have been in this situation. If you had read the advert properly, that we have air source heat pump heating, you would have known that these systems do not run at higher temperatures that you desire. My advert states there is parking for 3 small cars, or 2 big cars on my drive. It is a fact, although as the advert states, the drive is fairly steep. There is also free parking 10 seconds walk on the road outside (where you party parked on arrival actually). Plenty of parking for a party of 12. Likewise, I would not recommend you to other hosts, and have informed VRBO. It is rare that a host would not recommend guests, but sadly it does happen.
