A comfortable upside-down property situated in a quiet cul-de-sac in Brancaster, this coastal retreat offers stylish accommodation just a stone's throw from the beautiful white sands of Brancaster beach. Exuding charm, Thainstone House features contemporary interiors and is just a five minute walk from the village pub.
Situated on Branodunum, a development named after the neighbouring ancient Roman Fort of the same name, Thainstone is a refurbished 1970s detached property with reversed contemporary living to take full advantage of the light and views afforded by the upper floor overhead and side windows, including a large picture window which offers a glimpse of the sea on a clear day. All of the bedrooms (one king-size and three doubles) and two bathrooms (one is en-suite) are to be found on the ground floor, along with a useful utility/laundry room with a side door that opens to the spacious enclosed garden. The first floor, with views to four sides, enjoys a light and airy open-plan sitting room, which includes a dining area. A modern, landscape wood burning stove is the perfect addition, adding warmth and ambience in the colder months and creating an ultra cosy and comfortable area to relax and chill out after a busy fresh air, outdoors kind-of-day - walking along Brancaster's glorious beach, perhaps trying your hand at sailing, playing a competitive round of golf or getting out on your bikes to explore the local area. The fitted kitchen is also on this level, as well as the convenience of a cloakroom. The delightful landscaped garden runs to two sides of the house, has a south facing aspect and is the ideal spot for a lazy afternoon in the sun and enjoy some local produce on the barbecue.
This cool, stylish house really fits the bill for couples, friends and older families. With easy access to the beach and many superb local eating places, you might not want to venture too far afield, but if you do, you can always opt to catch the Coasthopper bus which regularly runs through the village all around the year and takes in all the coastal villages to the east and west. Four miles down the road is the bustling Georgian village of Burnham Market, renowned for its independent shops, boutiques, galleries and a variety of delicious eateries to sample. If you venture a little further east, you will discover picturesque Wells-next-the-Sea with its endless white sands that stretch to Holkham and beyond. Take the opportunity to grab yourself a hot drink and take a stroll along the sandy beach or sit by the Quay and treat yourself to some fish and chips from French's Fish Shop.
Additional Information: Two well-behaved dogs welcome (small additional charge). The pillows and duvets are feather. Children over the age of eight years are welcome. Maximum occupancy of six guests.
