Charming and Fully Refurbished 2 Bedroom Gite on the Charente/Dordogne Border

Officially rated 3 star by Charente Tourisme, our lovely self contained Gite has been fully refurbished for opening in 2022. It is situated on the edge of the beautiful village of Edon in The Charente and is approached via the village of La Rochebeaucourt. The Gite which is attached but separate to the main house is located on a quiet no through road and is surrounded by beautiful countryside and woodland.

Ideally located for many beautiful towns and attractions, close by are Villebois Lavelette, Brantome and Auberterre all within easy reach. Angouleme is only 25 minutes drive away so ideal for the festivals including the famous Circuit des Ramparts classic car races in Angouleme

The accommodation consists of a fully equipped newly fitted kitchen with all new appliances including cooker, fridge freezer, washing machine and microwave. The refurbished shower room has a new shower cubicle, basin and WC. The lounge has a comfortable sofa with Freeview satellite TV and a dining area with table and 4 chairs plus a fireplace with electric stove. There is also a high chair available

Upstairs, Bed 1 has a king size bed with luxury bedding, storage cupboard and dressing table. Bed 2 has twin beds and is ideal for children. We also have an additional cot and stair safety gate.
Everywhere has been freshly decorated, all the linen and towels are new and included.

Outside is a private covered terrace for al fresco dining and guests have the use of a large garden and woodland.

In summer when the weather is hot, our Gite tends to stay cool but if guests require air conditioning, a portable unit is available for a small daily charge

The Gite is ideal for a couple seeking peace and quiet or a family with children looking to explore our beautiful countryside and attractions.

Wonderful!

Lovely property with everything you need. Lots of space inside and out in a beautiful part of France. Wonderful hosts who clearly want you to have a fantastic stay. Highly recommended.

Sharp Gite

The hosts were truly welcoming but unobtrusive. The Gite is excellent the gardens and wood extremely tranquil. Location is perfect for sightseeing and experiencing the Charente. Hope to make return visit.

November Recharge

Where to start...what a beautiful property in an equally beautiful location. From the booking to arriving at the property lines of communication were always welcomed and help was always offered. We arrived quite late and shown into an immaculately warm and cosy gite with all the amenities you could ask for - a lovely welcome basket and a chilling bottle of Rose. We slept wonderfully in a very comfortable bed and actually only saw the gite in its splendour the following morning where we awoke to nothing but tranquility and peace and beautiful surroundings. A short walk from a boulangerie and a ten minute drive to a large supermarket where we stocked up on provisions for the week. A beautiful area with nothing but helpful hosts and French pastries!! Plenty to see in this area with chateaus, castles and a surprising find of an old French Demarcation post from the 2nd World War. Our stay was wonderful and we shall definitely return. Why they chose this property

For the perfect countryside location but in a great location to see many beautiful places in the surrounding area. We can recommend many restaurants to try and all within a 5 to 30 minute drive as well as 3 within walking distance. The village boulangerie is also just a walk away.
