About this property

Light & airy, family & dog friendly seaside home with enclosed garden

The Hidden House is a lovely 3 bedroom period property that’s big enough for families & groups, but cosy enough for a couple, close to the centre of the lovely Devon seaside town of Dawlish.

With a good size garden and patio, views over the hills and just a stone’s throw from the centre of Dawlish, it’s the perfect for base for week by the sea, a walking holiday or a relaxing long weekend.

The space:

Tucked away on quaint and quirky Regent St, the Hidden House is a light and airy period property with lots of outside space.

There are 3 bedrooms: one with a king size bed, a room with 2 bunk beds (so 4 beds), a double bedroom and a double sofa bed downstairs. There are also two travel cots available.

There’s a main bathroom with bath and separate shower upstairs and a downstairs loo and shower.

The kitchen - which looks on to the garden, is well appointed with double oven, microwave, fridge freezer and hob.

There’s a dishwasher and washing machine and heated drying rack as well as a washing line outside.

The garden is fully enclosed and consists of a large patio with a picnic bench & umbrella, lawn and has lovely views over the hills.

There’s also store which is perfect for prams, boogie boards, inflatables etc.

The location:

The Hidden House is set on a quiet road a few minutes walk from the centre of beautiful Dawlish.

With the river running through it, its own beach, and easy connection via train to many other lovely places like Teignmouth and Dawlish Warren, it’s a great place for a family holiday.

It’s also close to fabulous pathways so perfect for anyone wanting a walking holiday.

PLEASE NOTE:

- Whilst we can sleep up to 10 adults (the bunks can hold adults), there are only 6 dining chairs (plus 2 high chairs), so if you’re a large group planning evenings sat around the dining table, the house is possibly not for you.

- Re parking, there is free on street parking but it’s an old narrow street with parking on one side on and that means it can be hard to find a space. Don’t worry though, no minds you blocking the road to unload (it happens in Dawlish all the them!). And there’s always a free space a short walk away.

Family holiday
We all had a lovely holiday in this spacious, family friendly, well equipped home. It is very easy to walk to the main street with the river in the middle of Dawlish and the beach. It is a good base for visiting the surrounding area.

We are a family who love to holiday together - four generations at a time! We hope we’ve created a holiday home that other families can enjoy and make memories in.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with Dawlish and The Hidden House after years of looking forward somewhere we could use as a base to visit our Devon family. The house was a bit of wreck when we found it, but we’ve worked very hard to turn it into a a space we love (and hope you will to).

What makes this property unique

As we holiday as a family at The Hidden House ourselves, we’ve done everything we can to make it a truly family friendly space.

And as it’s a home for us rather than a business, we’re very responsive to any suggestions guests may have to improve the place.
