Lets start with the good points. Good location for the town, plenty of hot water. Large rooms with tall ceilings. Great radio. Comfy beds.
We were booked for 2 nights and but came home after 1.
The flat is looking tired now, in need of decoraction (eg yellowing gloss work), carpets and a general refresh. Scaffolding obscuring the views. We arrived to no made up beds or towels which in fairness was rectified by the owner within 3 hours. Locks are fiddly.
Overnight the flat was very noisy, both from drunks outside (kind of expected in a city, but not through to 3am) and the residents of the other rental flats who partied through to 4am. Below the bedrooms on the rear is a fast food outlet which pumped greasy fat smell into the bedrooms + ensuite, plus a noisy extractor fan was running till after midnight. We didn't get much sleep.
Communications were poor, this could in large part be down to Vrbo. I wanted to clarify something about the keys well in advance, two "messages to host" were ignored. When we arrived to no towels/linen, the number given by Vrbo left us in a long queue with Vrbo customer service and when we took the call-back option we were never called back. Luckily the owner left their number in the flat.
Basics are provided, tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits, hand-wash in the bathroom, loo rolls. But no dishwashing liquid or tea towels. All in all, we had hoped for a lovely weekend away and it has marred the experience for us. A lot of money for what we got.
