A very cold, uncomfortable stay
To begin with, the radiators were not working on the first and second floors - we tried to fix this ourselves but there was no hot water coming through the pipes. Because of this, my cousins, two aunts and my grandmother were forced to sleep on the floor of the living room on the ground floor.
The top bunk mattresses have worn-out springs which could be felt when laying on them. It was so uncomfortable and cold in that room that my aunts had to sleep on the floor of the living room.
The living room curtain hooks were badly fixed, and as they were sleeping, they came loose on their own and fell down. As we did not have anything to fix the curtains and did not cause the fall, we had left the curtains alone for the owners to fix. This has resulted in a complaint from the owners when it was not our doing.
We loaded the dishwasher on the last day and could not start the machine as we couldn't figure out what was wrong. We have now received a complaint that the house was left "messy" as a result.
After all of these issues, we didn't want to leave the holiday on a bad note so we decided to not complain. However, we have today received a message complaining that we left the house in a state (the only 'mess' was dishes in the broken dishwasher) and that we had "broken" the curtains (which fell on their own accord) and would therefore be charged £150 for these damages.
Because of the above mentioned problems, we do not consider the house to be as advertisend and do not accept fault for the issues they are now raising, and find it ridiculous that they would charge us for this.
