Had a lovely time at Home House, the location was perfect for exploring local beaches and towns. Home house was a comfortable stay with a swimming pool that was welcomed after a long day out. It was lovely sitting in the garden chatting over a glass or 2 of vino and the local pub Grey Goose served good food and very welcoming. Would wholeheartedly recommend for family or friends gathering.

Our family holiday in Devon

If you want a family holiday up to 9 people in South Devon in the Countryside, staying in a traditional thatched cottage, then this is the place for you. Amazing character set in a beautiful village location, close to all the beaches for the children but far enough away from the crowds and traffic in August. The pool was great and enjoyed by all the family, the children especially. All the amenities you require on holiday were at the cottage and more. Nigel and Jill were perfect hosts, there when you wanted anything but not there when you didn’t. Local pub 2 minutes away was great, as was the Church Inn pub in the next village, 5 minute drive. We would throughly recommend Home House for a Countryside holiday in a beautiful location in South Devon Tempest/ Wilson family

We have lived in Devon for the past 12 years and absolutely love it. It's a real joy to be be in the middle of the countryside and by the sea, and to be able to continue working remotely.

Why they chose this property

Home House is very comfortable and people often comment they feel immediately relaxed and at home. The surroundings are beautiful and there are numerous walks and trails from the doorstep.
Combeinteignhead is a very special village - warm, welcoming and there is always something going on.
We have two pubs - The Wild Goose is closest and is a lovely traditional pub serving great food; the other, Combe Cellars, is in a stunning location down by the estuary and again serves very good food.
We have welcomed holiday makers here for over 12 years and many people have made return trips.

What makes this property unique

The house itself is very special - thatched and allegedly the longest Devon Longhouse! We are in a fantastic location, nestled in the countryside and within easy walking distance of the estuary. Our closest beaches are only 2 miles away, at Maidencombe and Shaldon , and there are endless others to choose from. What's more, the wilds of Dartmoor are less than 30 minutes away by car.
The house has two gardens - one immediately by the front door and another larger one which has a lovely, peaceful summer house. The heated indoor swimming pool, situated at the bottom of the garden, is of course a major attraction.
