The Bothy is set in the grounds of Hesketh Hall dating back to the 1850s, and surrounded by the splendour of the Hambleton Hills, this beautiful adjoining barn conversion has been lovingly converted to a very high standard with wooden flooring throughout the ground floor and a wood-burning stove in the living room - creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It makes a fantastic location for families, friends and couples with the Bothy situated on the edge of The North York Moors National Park with its beautiful scenery, walks and fantastic cycle trails.
In addition, the North York Moors has recently been designated as an International Dark Sky Reserve, one of only 19 in the world meaning the moors is one of the best places in the country to see the stars, so why not make a flask up and head to the hills for a wonderful star gazing evening. The bustling market town of Thirsk, with its cobbled streets, is famed for its connection with James Herriot, a commanding 15th-century church, and the well-known racecourse which lies just 6 miles away.
The stunning ancient market town of Helmsley is only 7 miles, and the beautiful city of Ripon, one of England’s smallest cities, with its magnificent cathedral and racecourse, is just 12 miles along the road. Excellent walking is afforded from the Cleveland Way (less than a mile away) or discover the heritage of Yorkshire when visiting its many historic houses and abbeys, such as Castle Howard, Byland Abbey, Rievaulx Abbey and Duncombe Park, all of which are nearby.
