A cute little find of a cottage, nestled in the tiny market place in the traditional village of Wensley in the Peak District National Park. On walking into this delightful little detached cottage, you’ll experience a real sense of relaxation, with a comfy living room featuring a beautifully restored stone fireplace which houses the all-important wood burner for those cosy winter nights in. Leading off the living room is the tiny, but perfectly formed, kitchen with everything you will need to enjoy a comfortable stay. From the living room is a steep little staircase leading to the master bedroom with its picture-perfect windows allowing the light to flood in, and there is a shower room also off the landing. Outside you’ll find a pretty front patio with seating, perfect for a lazy morning watching the village life roll on by.
Wensley itself is a pretty conservation village, set just 3 miles from popular Matlock. Why not take advantage of the lovely walks from the doorstep and the beautiful cycle routes close by? The nearby, slightly larger village of Winster boasts a well-stocked community shop and café, as well as two excellent pubs and a 17th-century market house owned by the National Trust.The popular market towns of Matlock and Bakewell are also close by, and don’t forget a visit to the historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. The the more adventurous can sample Carsington Water, 9 miles away, with its many water-based activities.
