Shires Rest is a pleasant cottage located near the village of Hartington, Peak District National Park. Hosting one double bedroom, and a shower room, this property can sleep up to two people. Inside you will also find a kitchen/diner, and a sitting room with gas fire and sofa bed. Piano in lounge. To the outside is off-road parking. Resting in a charming destination with places of interest to explore nearby, Shires Rest is a delightful retreat in a characterful part of England. Note: There are steps up to the shower; please take care.

Region: The ultimate in “year-round” appeal, the Peak District offers countryside, picturesque villages and magnificent scenery. It touches upon six counties and encloses 555 square miles of open moorland, flowing rivers, and wooded dales.

Town: The former Hartington railway station, about a mile and half from the village itself, is now a picnic area and the converted track is known as the Tissington Trail, popular with both walkers and cyclists. Hartington is also a good starting point for walking along Beresford Dale, a beautiful place with its curiously formed cliffs and rocks.

A wee bit out of date

We had a very pleasant stay. Problems with TV. Lovely area Enjoyed Hartington especially the Cheese Shop and the Devonshire Arms. Everyone we met was so Friendly
