A stunning little conversion that is small but perfectly formed.
A stunning little conversion that is small but perfectly formed. We had a lovely welcome pack when we arrived, which we weren’t expecting, as well as a full basket of logs for the fire. The kitchen has everything you need for a few days or a week away.
It’s cosy, warm and in a beautiful location, and we found it easy to get to anywhere within the Peak District within 45- 50 mins.
We had to get Fish & Chips from nearby Matlock Bath, where we counted 11 Fish & Chip shops along the riverside.
All in all, a great little place, and we really enjoyed a relaxing, comfortable stay. Would definitely stay again if we come back to this area.

A great cottage tucked away of the main road very quiet everything in it you could ask for despite being only small. The owners are absolutely fantastic nothing too much trouble. Lovely welcome in person was a nice touch. Would recommend it to anybody wanting to get away but still close enough to enjoy beautiful scenery. Ps I fell in love with Linda the farm cat too

Delightful cottage with a warm welcome from the owner.
Delightful cottage with a warm welcome from the owner. Clean throughout and has everything you need for a stay. Very quiet and away from traffic, with lots of nearby wildlife. Only issue was we found the pillows a bit hard to sleep on. Hence the 8 for comfort. But that can soon be remedied. We loved it.

We have nothing bad to say about this cottage and will definitely stay again.

Cornstore Cottage is a very small but extremely cosy and a perfect cottage for 2 (plus our small dog). The owner was very welcoming on arrival. The woodburner was a lovely addition and plenty of wood provided (extra wood available for a small cost), the kitchen was very well equipped. Bedroom upstairs, again small, but plenty of room for 2 and the ensuite bathroom with a large shower was lovely. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and very well finished - loved the pictures, especially the friendly donkey on the staircase! Lots of walks from the doorstep, lovely tea room (that serves beer & wine too!!) just over the road, as is a railway line which serves Matlock & Derby - very useful. Will definitely return if we come to the area again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Chris was a warm and welcoming host, who was contactable whenever we needed him.
Chris was a warm and welcoming host, who was contactable whenever we needed him. Cottage was small but beautifully homely with underfloor heating and an open fire.
Short walk to tea rooms and local train station which took us straight into Matlock (10 mins), where we local beer and food.
We'd definitely recommend Cornstore Cottage for a short "getaway" break, and we'll be returning again for sure before too long.

Kids paid for a short stay for our 31st Anniversary.
Kids paid for a short stay for our 31st Anniversary. We found the cottage easily with sat nav. Nice that you had to go through a gate and shut it behind you. Adequate space for the car. We loved the wood burner! Very peaceful. Cottage lovely & warm. Coffee & biscuits greeted us as did the owner who showed us in. We visited Matlock, Cromford Mills, Bakewell & Buxton from the cottage all within good driving distance. We ate out at the Family Tree, a short distance from the cottage. Can recommend for breakfast & dinner. We loved our stay! Many thanks.
