Region: From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

Town: E.E. Nesbitt's renowned 1970 film adaptation of his novel, The Railway Children, was filmed in Oakworth, a little Pennine village just two miles from Haworth and overlooking the Worth Valley. In addition to being close to Haworth and the moors, Oakworth also features a lovely ornamental park and is conveniently located near Keighley, the county town. The Bronte sisters, who lived nearby in Haworth, were greatly influenced by the surrounding moorland. All of this is set against the beautiful countryside depicted in the novel Wuthering Heights in Haworth, which boasts an abundance of curious and antique shops, narrow passageways, and cobblestone streets.
