Stunning, newly refitted apartment is a quiet location perfect for exploring all that The English Ri
The Falstone Apartment is situated in the St Marychurch area of Torquay and is ideal for those looking for a slightly quieter break on The English Riviera. It is situated in a tree lined avenue and is just a five minute stroll to Fore Street which is the very heart of St Marychurch. Here you will find an unusually bustling high street with lots of independent traders and cafes. Close by are two of The English Riviera's key visitor attractions - Babbacombe Model Village and Bygones. A short walk beyond these is the Babbacombe Downs area with spectacular clifftop views as well as a wide range of evening dining venues and the famous Babbacombe Cliff Railway and Babbacombe Theatre.
The Falstone Apartment itself is a fully refitted two bedroom apartment on the first floor of a period building. The apartment has an open plan living space with a superb well equipped modern kitchen as well as a separate sitting area with sofas and a large SMART TV.
The main bedroom has a luxury king sized bed (UK size 5 foot width) as well as an ensuite shower room plus plenty of storage. This bedroom has a bay window as well as an additional sde window so it is gloriously light and bright. Roman blinds means that at night any light can be completely blocked out.
The second bedroom has a super king bed (UK size 6 foot width) and this can be split into two to make two single beds. This spacious room also has plenty of storage. There is also a family bathroom with bath and shower over.
Outside, the apartment has its own allocated parking space off road and there is an allocated part of the rear garden for the sole use of apartment guests.

An excellent apartment
We had a wonderful stay at this holiday apartment. From the moment we arrived, it felt like a real home from home, with everything we could possibly need for a comfortable and relaxing break. The apartment was spotlessly clean and clearly very well cared for, which made settling in a pleasure.
The location is lovely – nice and quiet, perfect for unwinding, yet still convenient for exploring the area. It was the ideal balance of peace and accessibility.
Overall, we couldn’t have asked for more. A fantastic place to stay, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend it to others

Great Stay
The holiday booked same day as arrival and our hosts pulled out all the stops to accommodate us. Excellent communication.
Apartment very comfortable with everything you would need for a stress free self catering holiday. Couldn't fault anything, very clean and spacious with tasteful decor - very enjoyable stay. Bonus of car parking onsite and location a short walk to St Marychurch facilities and Babbacombe Bay.

Excellent stay at the Falstone apartment.
Absolutely 5 star plus accommodation. Home from home. Beautiful building. The host was very accommodating and with great communication if required. Could not fault the location. Literally 2 mins walk into St Marychurch high street. The apartment was faultless, everything has been thought of. Fantastic quality furnishings.

Thank you we really enjoyed our stay
Really enjoyed our stay at The Falstone apartment. Clean (important as one of us suffers from severe pet allergies) and well equipped kitchen. My parents particularly enjoyed the books and read a couple during our stay. Co-op short walk away was useful for the basics. We enjoyed the peace and quiet and great to have designated parking. We had fabulous weather in June ☺️. Central location to everything we wanted to do, visited National Trust properties at Coleton Fishacre and Greenway. Went along front at Babbacombe, Brixham (where a seagull tried to steal our ice-cream, so beware) and Torquay (recommend breakfast at Hoopers next to marina). Also spent lovely couple of hours in Dartmouth watching the boats. Would recommend and we'd stay here again. Thank you.

Beautiful well maintained modern apartment
Falstone Apartment is a beautifully renovated and decorated luxury apartment in a Victorian building on a leafy street with palm trees. 2 very Large bedrooms one en suite and an open plan dining kitchen and lounge. The apartment was Immaculately clean with a very well equipped designer kitchen. There is a lovely landscaped shared garden to use on sunny days. The added bonus is your own parking space. A good base with a short drive or walk to Babbacombe or a short drive to Torquay.

Lovely apartment
We had another lovely stay at this apartment. The beds are comfortable but a little on the soft side for me personally. There is plenty of room for four adults as we went as a family and I have a daughter who is disabled, but managed the stairs quite well. The parking was in a good position, but the road outside was very busy, could have been due to the school still being used, though not an issue getting in and out. The only thing that was missing on our arrival was the promised milk, so it was good that we always take some with us for a drink of tea on the way down. It was very hot in the apartment and we were thankful of the fan. Will most likely stay again in the future.

Lovely apartment, but dreadful location.
The apartment was excellent and well equipped, but the location was not good. Everything seemed to close early in the evenings and the places that were open stopped serving food really early. Access to the beach wasn't easy and that wasn't made clear when the booking was made. There were no decent shops or restaurants close by.
The residents in the apartments kept going through our rubbish to ensure we were putting things in the correct bins and then telling us about it, which was a bit of a nuisance.
There needs to be fans in the apartment, as it was so hot. I had to buy one and then had to leave it there, as I couldn't carry it home on the train. Also, the apartment needs black-out blinds, the sun came up really early and the rooms were then so light and extremely hot.

These are very disappointing comments.
The remarks about the location are grossly unfair. The apartment is extremely close to the centre of St Marychurch which contrary to what the reviewer said has an extremely vibrant high street - and unusually for modern Britain there is barely a single empty unit. The shops are generally independent and are very varied - to say none of them are decent is extremely insulting to those who run them so well. They may not have been to the taste of the reviewer but does not mean none of them were "decent".
In terms of restaurants, there is a huge choice during the day and just as with the rest of the English Riviera, at night you may need to go slightly further afield. In this case a ten minute walk to Babbacombe Downs would have given the guests access to more than a dozen night time eating venues.
In relation to beaches, they were literally just ten minutes' walk away from a variety of beaches - it is true that the cliffs are high and they are a long way down is some cases BUT the Victorians bequeathed us the magnificent Cliff Railway which takes visitors up and down in great comfort and style.
In terms of other residents and the rubbish - when you book holiday accommodation like this, the chances are you will be staying in buildings where there are permanent residents. I suspect they saw that the guests weren't bothering to separate any recyclable materials and may have given a friendly reminder. That they cared enough to say anything is actually quite commendable.
In terms of fans etc. The apartment has Roman blinds which we keep lowered in the summer during the day and that generally keeps the apartment cool. The extreme heat of the last few days may have meant that a fan was necessary and we would have provided one without hesitation. The guests had my mobile number and they could have contacted me at any time. I specifically asked them to do so if there was anything at all that they needed. I will never understand the mentality that chooses not to ask for something and then waits till they get home to complain about something that could easily have been resolved. I respond within hours to any requests of this nature.
This trip was to re-live the childhood holidays that I had with my parents in the 60s/70s. We are grandparents of two teens and brought them along.
Booking and arrival process was smooth and efficient.
The apartment is upstairs with views to the front. It's exactly as in the pictures and new, clean and bright.
The beds are comfortable, the ensuite is small but does the job - maybe dfficult to access to someone on the larger side. Would have liked a TV in the main bedroom but we were very lucky with the weather so didn't really need it.
Lounge sofas very comfortable and there's everything in the kitchen you need.
It's a 10-15 min walk to Babbacombe sea front and a 5 min drive to Torquay harbour. Lots of cafes nearby but they do close early - supermarkets nearby are open late.
The cliff railway to Oddicombe beach still wasn't working but we did have the chance to go down there for an afternoon as a mini bus was provided by the cafe owners.
We visited Oddicombe beach, Ansteys Cove, Meadfoot beach and Torquay beach and Harbour. Maidencombe beach was a highlight along with the cafe and pub lunch (don't drive down if you're nervous!). The pub brought back great memories - The outside area is much bigger but the view is just as beautiful.
Cockington village was a must for me but did miss the horses. Shop keepers are so friendly and filled in some gaps in my memory. Thank you.
Overall a wonderful stay.

Immaculate apartment
Had a very good stay in this immaculate apartment. We were very impressed with it in terms of decor & its contents. Definitely recommend!
Close enough to Babbacombe and Torquay this is a superb apartment, which tastefully furnished with excellent quality equipment and fittings . Located in a quiet area, 5 minutes from shops is a brilliant base for a holiday in the Torbay area and Torbay has everything you need. Would definitely recommend to anyone and would book again.

Luxury apartment stay
We had a fabulous stay at the Falstone Apartment. We walked in and were surprised at how nice it was and the photos didn't lie. Our bedroom was gorgeous and very roomy. The bed was comfy and we both slept very well. The kitchen was well equipped and the whole apartment was liight and airy.
The location is in a very quiet road that iis a dead end with a pub on the corner and then you are on the high street. The shops are great and we enjoyed getting everything to eat without having to get in the car. We can reccommend the walk to the quaint cliff railway and taking it down to the beach and back up again.
We fell in love with St.Marychurch and the apartment and hope to go back again soon.
