About this property

The space
This beautifully restored miners cottage lies in the heart of the Forest of Dean. Ideally located for forest walks, you are within easy reach of popular attractions such as the sculpture trail, Pedalabikeaway and Symonds Yat.
The Cottage
This 3 bedroom cottage is well equipped for families, dog owners and cyclists keen to explore the Forest of Dean. Comprised of 2 double bedrooms, a bedroom with 2 single beds, a family bathroom and a smaller upstairs toilet, the cottage also has a generous patio, large lawn and private parking for 3 vehicles.
Electric vehicle charging
The cottage has a Sync EV 7.4kw charging point next to the driveway, we operate a not for profit policy on power use. Guests will be asked to pay a £10 per night per vehicle deposit, we then refund this at the end of your stay minus the cost of charging your vehicles. The charging point records usage and electricity is billed at the UK standard capped rate at the time of arrival (currently 34p per KWh).
Bike Storage
We offer secure a secure bike store with space for at least 4 bikes, the bike store has 2 ground anchors with security chains and locks. Guests are also welcome to store expensive bikes in the house if they wish.
Amenities
There are 2 pubs and a convenience store all within a short walking distance of the cottage. The town centre is 1 mile away and offers 2 supermarkets, cafe’s, takeaways, a cinema and other independent shops. Cheltenham, Gloucester, Ross-on-Wye, Chepstow and Monmouth are all within a half hour drive.
Places to explore
The forest is within a 5 minutes stroll, providing quick access for dog walks. Mountain bikers can reach Mallards Pike and the cycle trails beyond within 10 - 15 minutes ride from the cottage.
Guest access
The best way to travel around the Forest of Dean is by car. There is plenty of good car parks and easy access to all the popular tourist locations.
Other things to note
The Forest of Dean is full of wonderful wildlife, from deer, free grazing sheep and wild boar, to highland cattle and recently reintroduced pine martins. The nearest welsh mountains are Pen Y Fan in the Brecon Beacons and the Sugar Loaf in the Black mountains.
