Town: A historic and picturesque market town, Arundel is a popular tourist destination for couples visiting Sussex. It is located just outside of the South Downs National Park, and the River Arun winds through it. The city is renowned for its thriving calendar of events and independent shops, contemporary art galleries, restaurants, cafes, and delightful drinking spots, as well as numerous attractions. In Arundel, recreational activities range from walking across the South Downs to canoeing, boating, and cycling; there is something for everyone! Arundel Castle is open to the public from April to October, whereas Arundel Cathedral towers over the town and is accessible on a daily basis. This magnificent structure is well worth the steep climb up the hill and along the cobblestone streets to reach it. Built around 1180 A.D., St. Mary's Church is located in the village, along with shops, pubs, and a specialty coffee shop.  Climping Beach is a nearby and is a romantic, and quiet pebble beach with a large expanse of sand at low tide that is ideal for windsurfing and dog walking. Less than an hour's drive away are the cathedral city of Chichester, the seaside city of Brighton, and the historic port city of Portsmouth.
