Step into a piece of Arundel’s rich history with this charming studio, set within a Grade II listed building that was once the Wheatsheaf Inn—a bustling pub from the 1800s. Now lovingly restored and part of a private home, this self-contained studio apartment offers a peaceful and characterful retreat, just a short walk from Arundel Castle, the River Arun, and the town’s many independent shops, pubs, and cafés.
We will be available to assist throughout your stay but we do not live on site at the property. Should you have any special requests, please get in touch and we will do our best to help.
The market town of Arundel is home to some of the countries highest regarded antique shops and boasts a castle, cathedral, countless restaurants, an impressive nine pubs and a local brewery. It is also only 15 minutes from the sandy South Coast, Goodwood estate and Chichester. At 45 minutes by rail from Gatwick and just under 1.5 hours from London it is well placed for a holiday stay.
Access to the property is via a smart lockbox system, giving convenience to arrive whenever suits you. Instructions will be sent 48 hours prior to your stay.
Inside, the studio boasts a cosy open-plan layout with a comfortable living and sleeping area, a well-equipped kitchenette, and a modern en-suite shower room. Original architectural features such as painted stonework and archways and are a nod to the building’s historic past, while the walls showcase the owner’s original artwork, giving the space a warm and creative touch. Guests also have access to a private patio area just off the living room—complete with a seating area, perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or an evening drink.
Whether you’re exploring the South Downs, attending a local event, or simply looking for a relaxing escape, this unique studio offers the ideal blend of history, comfort, and convenience. With free Wi-Fi, all essential amenities, and a truly memorable setting, it’s the perfect base for your West Sussex getaway.
Train: Arundel has a railway station with direct services from London Victoria, Gatwick Airport, and other locations. Once you arrive in Arundel, you will need to use local bus services or other modes of transportation to reach the property. It is about a 15 minute walk to the property.
Bus: There are bus services connecting Arundel to nearby towns and villages. Local bus services may operate routes to Arundel or other nearby areas.
Car: If you have access to a car, you can drive to Arundel and then use local roads to reach the property.
