About this property
Luxury Stargazing Dome | Wood-Fired Hot Tub | Cambrian Mountains
Escape Beneath the Stars - Leave everyday life behind and escape to your own peaceful corner of Mid Wales.
Nestled in the beautiful Cambrian Mountains, O Dan Y Sêr (Beneath the Stars) is a spacious luxury geodesic dome designed for two. Surrounded by countryside, birdsong and exceptional dark skies, it's the perfect place to slow down, reconnect and enjoy nature in comfort.
Whether you're celebrating an anniversary, planning a surprise getaway, escaping for a few peaceful days or simply craving a digital detox, this is somewhere you'll remember long after you've returned home.
Designed for Relaxation Unlike many glamping pods, our 8-metre geodesic dome feels wonderfully spacious. Inside you'll find a comfortable king-size bed, cosy seating area, Smart TV, Wi-Fi, fully equipped kitchenette, dining space and everything you need for a relaxing self-catering stay. Large panoramic windows bring the outside in, allowing you to wake up to countryside views before stepping outside with your morning coffee.
The dome is carefully positioned to give guests privacy while still enjoying beautiful views across the surrounding landscape.
Your Own Wood-Fired Hot Tub As evening arrives, light the wood-fired hot tub and watch the sky transform. One of the things guests love most is sitting beneath thousands of stars with nothing but the sounds of the countryside around them. On clear nights you'll often see the Milky Way stretching overhead, countless constellations, satellites and regular meteor showers.
It's an experience that's surprisingly difficult to find elsewhere. Cook Outdoors Enjoy relaxed evenings cooking together. Use the outdoor pizza oven for homemade pizzas. Fire up the barbecue. Eat outside beneath the stars. Or simply curl up with a blanket beside the fire after a day exploring Mid Wales. Sometimes the best evenings are the ones where you never leave the dome.
Discover the Cambrian Mountains Often called Wales' hidden mountain range, the Cambrian Mountains remain wonderfully peaceful even during the busiest holiday periods. From the dome you're perfectly placed for exploring: • Lake Vyrnwy • Hafren Forest • Clywedog Reservoir • Elan Valley • Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfall • The Dyfi Valley • Machynlleth • Llanidloes • Aberdyfi and the Cardigan Bay coastline
Whether you're hiking, cycling, photographing wildlife or simply enjoying scenic drives, there's something to discover in every direction. Amazing Night Skies
The dome was named O Dan Y Sêr — Beneath the Stars — for good reason. Our location enjoys some of Britain's darkest skies, making it ideal for stargazing throughout the year.
We've partnered with a local astrophotographer who offers private stargazing experiences, helping guests explore the night sky through telescopes and learn more about the constellations, planets and deep sky objects visible above the Cambrian Mountains.
It's a magical experience for beginners and experienced stargazers alike. Wildlife All Around Nature is never far away. During your stay you may spot: • Red Kites • Buzzards • Great Spotted Woodpeckers • Owls • Foxes • Badgers • Hares • Lizards • Bats • Cuckoos Every season offers something different, making each visit unique.
Meet Barry! One of our most popular residents is Barry, our friendly pet pig, who often delights guests from his nearby paddock. He's become something of a local celebrity and is always a favourite talking point.

Our Story O Dan Y Sêr means "Beneath the Stars" in Welsh. When we created the dome, we wanted to offer something more than just another glamping stay. We wanted guests to experience the peace, wildlife and remarkable night skies that made us fall in love with this part of Mid Wales. Many guests arrive with busy itineraries, planning to explore every corner of the area. Yet one of the comments we hear most often is how difficult it is to leave the dome. Between lazy mornings, countryside views, evenings in the hot tub and unforgettable skies overhead, many discover that doing very little turns out to be the perfect holiday.
