Casa Encina (+/- 65 m2) is a beautiful comfortable old-looking house, with two terraces, to enjoy the sun and/ or shade. It is the house nearest to our communal pool. Composed as following: (ground floor only), entrance by terrace to large living room, two seated sofa, TV with satellite . A fully equipped kitchen, dining area with four seats, bathroom with shower and toilet, sink and a royal bedroom, equipped with two individually beds (90 x 200 cm). Each window gives you a spectacular view at the garden, and the pool. Every window has shutters. On the terrace in the shade of a big old tree, at the backside of the house you could think you were alone on the world. Electric heating.. Note: both the Finca itself as the pool are fenced. We, the owners, ( Carlos and Carin), are the ones that will receive you, can help you with all information. Finca la Hijuela is located in the hills near Vejer, in a small town, on a plot of almost 6000 m2. There are 4 totally separated houses for rent on the Finca; Casa Tepuana (2 bedrooms), Casa Encina (1 bedroom), Casa Azahar (1 bedroom), Casa Madreselva (1 bedroom). Each house is isolated and private, with its own garden, terrace and barbecue. To be in the middle of nature. Surrounded by very old oak trees and more than 30 orange, lemon and lime trees, as well as other fruits. In the center of the Finca there is a large swimming pool (10 x 5 m). In the mature and colorful garden, you have all the privacy you could want. We are close to; Vejer, Conil, Medina Sidonia, Seville, Cádiz, Tarifa, Gibraltar. Enjoy the most beautiful beaches on the Costa de la Luz with more than 15 kilometers of fine sandy beaches. The closest beach is about 8 kilometers. You can take a trip to Morocco. Several nice restaurants are nearby, as Vejer de la Frontera has been nominated as a new gastronomic destination. Small shop for daily needs nearby.

This is the perfect place to make your vacation days very special days. Finca la Hijuela is for all those who love the sound of cowbells in the distance, while zipping a wine on your terrace, listening to the owls and the smell of jasmine. Very peaceful ...Perfect houses for a stay away from the hubbub of Vejer and Conil, but so close that it is easy to make visits there, for example to the beaches.

The chalet was comfortable and well equipped with charming touches. You are perfectly located to explore local towns and beaches and then return to get away from it all and relax on your terrace or by the pool.

Beautiful traditional spanish farm house

Absoluetly beautiful house set in an amazing well kept perfectly manicured Finca. Our 2 year old son loved it here, lots and lots to see and do in the garden - He especially loved the tortoise's, the chickens and the trampoline! Very relaxing time all round. Carin made us feel most welcome and gave us plenty of useful advice on visiting the local area. Would thoroughly recommend! Thanks so much Carin x

Just gorgeously relaxing

We were at la Hijuela for the third time and when we arrived we felt at home immediately. The owners Carin and Carlos make sure that nothing is left to be desired when you arrive. The finca itself is such a beauty - like a little paradise where you can recharge your batteries. We will certainly be back! P.S. La Muela itself doesn't offer many restaurants if you don't want to cook but there's one not very far away. It is called Patria and is well worth a visit. Do check there to find fresh Andalusian food served in style and with a view.

Awful stay

The place was in an area where all homes apparently had to be behind giant fences and gates. You have to travel tiny, bumpy dirt roads to get there. The host was very strange towards me, making me feel uncomfortable on multiple occasions. She also has no problem just showing up at your supposedly private home and often pops out of her home when she sees you walking to your car (you have to walk by her home to leave or get to your parking spot). My rental car was also damaged while parked there. I cut my trip short to get out of there as I was not at all comfortable being there, and I did not feel safe there.

Sit back and enjoy!

The perfect location if you want a completely relaxing environment which is also handy for interesting days out. The little house we stayed in was beautiful - all built in the traditional Andalusian style with so much attention to detail. Close to the pool, we were able to swim before breakfast every morning, and relax on the loungers in the afternoons whilst still being handy for cups of tea, glasses of sherry, vino, sun cream, books, internet and all other essential (?) relaxation-enhancing equipment. The garden is lush and beautiful, and all kinds of animals made themselves apparent - the owners' cute little dogs, mother hens with clutches of chicks, tortoises, cats (and kittens), plus the local bird life, including swallows regularly swooping down to the pool for a drink on the wing, and unidentified others singing their hearts out. We loved it. We visited Cadiz, Gibraltar and Tangier, and could also have included Seville but will save that for another time - the lure of the garden and the pool were too great. The local town, Vejer, is gorgeous. Tip: buy a good map - it's like the Hampton Court maze. We recommend this Finca highly, and hope future guests enjoy their stays there as much as we did. Beautiful house and garden

We definitely had a great and relaxing time at Finca La Hijuela and enjoyed some sunny days in the beautiful and extremely well kept garden just outside our small house (Casa Encina), which was very nicely and lovingly decorated, clean and fully equipped with everything we needed. We even dared a swim in the pool just in front of Casa Encina, even though the water was still freezing. People who are sensitive to cold should ask the owners for a heater in the spring months though; we were there at the beginning of April. Especially during the nights it was still cold and windy, and it took us some time to get the damp and cold out of the house during our stay there, leaving the windows wide open during the day when the sun was out. The only details we missed about the house was a little more space to put clothes etc. in the bedroom and maybe a bigger sofa to relax inside the house when it was too cold to go outside. There are some wonderful white beaches just 10 mins by car, and shopping is possible in various towns nearby. And as to Andalusian culture and culinary there is plenty of stuff to do in the region. For animal lovers the place is ideal; we spent lots of time with the friendly cats and dogs around the house, who are impressively well educated and not intrusive at all, so they don't enter the guest houses if they're not allowed to. I really missed Kati in particular when we were back home... Thanks again to Carin and Carlos and all the best!

Wir haben eine Woche bei Carin und Carlos in dem kleinen Häuschen Encina verbracht.Es war alles wunderbar! Es ist eine sehr saubere und gut ausgestattete Unterkunft mit Charme.Der Garten wird sehr gut gepflegt und der Pool ist einfach ein Traum! Es ist etwas abgelegen aber für uns war die Ruhe genau richtig.Am besten hat uns die dezente Gastfreundschaft von Carin und Carlos gefallen, so konnten wir entspannt unseren Urlaub genießen und haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt.Wir kommen sicher wieder!

Un paraíso en Cadiz

No es la primera ni la última vez que descansamos en la Hijuela, porque la hijuela es para eso, desconectar y descansar. Un jardín escondido en la muela, con una piscina maravillosa y repleta de vegetación. Las playas a 15 minutos en coche, Vejer a 10, Conil a otros 10. Sus dueños, Carlos y Carin, son encantadores y reservados, pero estarán ahí cuando los necesites. Las casas (hay 4) con estilo rústico, porche, barbacoa y jardín privado. No sé qué más decir, siempre que hemos ido, hemos vuelto con más ganas de volver. Si te gusta la zona y l tranquilodad, no lo dudes.

Finca Hijuela Casa Encina

Wij hebben een geweldige tijd gehad in de Finca, Carin en Carlos zijn zeer gastvrij en je kunt altijd bij hen terecht. Ons huis was ruim, schoon en had alles wat we nodig hadden. We hebben genoten van de prachtige tuin, de zwaluwen die een nest hadden onder onze overkapping, de schatige hondjes die kwamen buurten, de vele vinders, kippen en vele exotische vogels. En natuurlijk heerlijk zwemmen in het mooie zwembad. Het is ideaal voor dagtrips naar leuke dorpjes in de buurt maar ook de mooie stad Cádiz is vlakbij. Dus niet naar de Spaanse drukke Costa’s maar fijn naar deze Finca😊 De Atlantische oceaan is op vijf minuten rijden en hier heb je zeer rustige stranden waar het heerlijk relaxt is (wij waren er eind mei). Kortom wij kunnen het het iedereen aanbevelen en je hebt echt rust en ruimte na een uitstapje of dagje strand! Wij komen zeker weer terug!

Paradies in wunderschöner Umgebung

So sollte Urlaub sein, tolles Ambiente und großartige Gastgeber, Carin und Carlos haben keinerlei Wünsche offen gelassen, ein Ort zum Träumen und Entspannen, alles noch besser wie beschrieben, unsere Erwartungen wurden mehr als übertroffen! Wir haben uns auf der Finca la Hijuela sehr wohl gefühlt! Das Häuschen war für uns perfekt und bot alles, was man benötigt und ist liebevoll eingerichtet.Es war schön, seine Ruhe zu haben, aber dennoch nicht allein zu sein - Carin hat uns des öfteren mit Rat und Tat unterstützt. Der Pool ist super, der Garten ist super und wir werden die kleine Schildkröte und die 3 süßen Hunde, sehr vermissen!

Tiere muss man mögen

Sehr gepflegte, botanisch interessante Gartenanlage mit sauberem Swimmingpool. Karen und Carlos sind freundlich und hilfsbereit. Anwesen liegt in ländlicher Umgebung. Der ungeteerte Anfahrtsweg hat sehr viele Schlaglöcher (kann reizend für Gelenke sein). Es gibt viele Tiere, die keine Scheu haben und manchmal etwas aufdringlich sind (3 kleine Hunde; Hühner; Schwalben, die über dem Eingangsbereich nisten und auf das T-Shirt koten, dafür aber Stechmücken fressen; große, aber harmlose Ameisen in der Küche; drei putzige Ratten im Gebüsch, die sich diskret wieder auf das Nachbargrundstück zurückziehen, wenn man ihnen zuwinkt). Wir mögen Tiere.

I was born in Holland, during my childhood i often spent my whole summers in Conil de la Frontera, Cadiz, since a friend of my mother lived there. Holidays seemed endless back then, and I really enjoyed being in southern Spain. Then, as a teenager, I met my now husband... We have been living in Sevilla together, then 10 years in Holland again, and finally we bought our finca and started our new life here...

Why they chose this property

The surroundings are so beautiful, it´s pure nature, and aboveboard, nothing to do with our lifestyle in Holland.
We live away from it all, but on the other hand, everything is so close, you can easily visit a lot of different towns and cities, each of them with their unique delights. But when you get back, entering the gate, you smell the garden , the pine trees and enjoy a soft blowing wind and you feel like you can be yourself..

What makes this property unique

Each rental house on the Finca ( 4) is completely Private, and Indepented, with it´s own garden, terrace, barbeque and piece of the garden. 100% Nature, being taken care of by us where needed, silence, caring animals, beautiful views, quiet, just how your wel-earned holidays should be!!
Be careful though; several guests keep repeating year after year....
Something in the air here (or maybe the water??) is contagious.. ;-)

We, the owners, ( Carlos and Carin), are the ones that will receive you, can help you with all information, medical problems, we are the ones that clean the houses, wash, take care of the garden etc. So you will not have to deal with any other person during your stay.. Due to the Covid-19 issue, we are cleaning the houses now with ozon as well, to make sure that at your arival you will have an completly clean and hygienic house waiting for you..
