Great vacation home

Great value. Fully updated. Quiet neighborhood. Extremely clean. Large kitchen and living area. Beautiful outdoor patio overlooking the ocean. Heated pool. Game room in basement with table tennis and additional full bath. Restaurants and stores one block away. Thoroughly enjoyed stayed especially long breakfasts on patio. The owner Jan was very helpful and gave good suggestions for nearby shopping and restaurants.

Great location with Ocean views

The Villa is as described, great location and short ride to airport. Access by foot to local restaurants and mini markets. The weather was amazing, in the 70’s F with cool breeze from the ocean. The pool was a great addition, the water was warm enough to swim even on a breeze day because the sun was always shinning, that’s Madeira. The host was excellent, meet us at the Villa for check in and was available via phone during stay. To recap, the Villa was excellent for a family of 4 with plenty of room for everyone, location was great to visit Funchal and other parts of Madeira. Overall it we gave it 5 stars and would stay again for sure. Joe

Really nice house with a stunning view where you don’t need a car

A very nice house, well equipped, with plenty of space and a lovely pool area with a stunning view. Due to the level differences both inside and in the garden there were some stairs which could be good to know if travelling with children not able to manage those. We, a family of five grown-ups and one infant, spent a week without renting a car since we were able to walk to the beach, with possibility to take a cable cabin instead of walking the whole distance, walk to the main street with restaurants, bakery, pharmacy, ATM, and small grocery stores. For real supermarkets a longer, but still reasonable, walk was needed. We could also take a taxi to visit Funchal, approximately 25 Euro one-way, and hire a minivan with driver for 150-180 Euro for a full day tour on either the west or the east part of the island. It was also possible to join organized tours that picked us up at a hotel nearby so we were able to walk on the levadas too. Overall a really nice week and I can truly recommend this house with nice surroundings.

Villa Hansen has a fantastic warm location, most upmarket neigbourhood, suburb of Funchal, called Cristo Rei, overlooking the sea, only 220 meter over sea level. The Villa has subtropical gardens, BBQ, very near Garajau Beach - Cristo Rei (Jesus Statue) (walking distance 10min) and 5min walk to mainstreet with restaurants and shops and bus and taxi. 10min drive to Funchal city center. Garajau - Cristo Rei. Most upmarket Suburb of Funchal with the best properties and best neighbourhood in Madeira Island. Best for your holidays !

I was looking over 5 years around Funchal before I found this unique Villa in the best warm location ! Away from city center with no fumes of cars and noise ! But close to everything you need within walking distance. We where renovating Villa Hansen first for about 1 year, before rening it out to guests. The Villa has a charming style with fantastic sea-views, large private salt water swimming pool, BBQ, subtropical gardens, very near Garajau Beach - Cristo Rei (Jesus Statue) and 5min walk to restaurants and shops. 10min drive to Funchal city center.
