About this property

Beautiful stone house with private pool, stunning views, in heart of Dordogne

A beautiful farmhouse set in lovely, well-maintained gardens and woodland, with a private pool and stunning views across the valley. Located in a peaceful rural setting, Maison Les Bruguettes is perfectly placed to enjoy the stunning Dordogne Valley.

It is minutes from the Dordogne and Ceou rivers, as well as the nearby chateaux of Beynac, Castelnaud-la-Chapelle and Marquaysac and the beautiful market towns of Sarlat, Domme, Daglan and more. The area is known for its fabulous restaurants and historical sites, as well as outdoor activities including canoeing, hiking, cycling, hot air ballooning, horse riding and rock climbing.

Dating back to the 15th century, the house retains its charm with exposed beams, original stonework and two wood burning stoves, while also providing modern a kitchen and bathrooms for our guests' comfort.

With two terraces, you can enjoy dinner and drinks outside, taking in the views and the beauty of the gardens. Wild orchids bloom in the woods and surrounding countryside in spring and early summer, and there are several woodland walks you can take directly from the house.

The large, very clean private pool is surrounded by sunbathing and seating areas, with parasols providing shade if needed, or you can relax in hammocks under the shade of a walnut tree in our meadow. We also have a grass badminton court, a boules area and table tennis on site.

The house has everything you will need for a comfortable stay, including wi-fi, TV with access to French and English channels, gas and electric Lacanche ovens, BBQ, kettle, toaster, Nespresso coffee machine, microwave and dishwasher, as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer. We also provide a welcome pack of sparkling wine, fresh bread, eggs, cheese, milk, etc. so you can relax and enjoy your surroundings, instead of rushing out to the shops as soon as you arrive.

If you require accommodation for an additional two people, we can offer you a beautiful two person gîte on the property at extra cost, which was previously rented out via VRBO and received 72 reviews with an average of 5 stars. It has a kitchen, bathroom, living area with wood burning stove and a balcony with incredible valley views. It is now only available to rent with the main house and cannot be rented separately.

Please note: For any assistance, the proprietor lives close at hand on the wider property.

Please note: The house is not suitable for children under 5 or for those with mobility issues.

Fabulous place to stay
We had a wonderful break here in August. The house is so beautiful; full of character and charm, comfortable and very tastefully furnished. The views are idyllic, the French countryside stretching out before you from the terraces. Lovely big grounds to explore, with many places to relax, sit or eat. A great pool which is very private and well kept. We have not found a better location than this in the Dordogne. It really is so close to all the attractions, and of course to the magnificent river just down the road. Alanna made the booking process very smooth, and Vincent was a great host - very informative and helpful but never intrusive. Les Bruguettes is something special and we absolutely would recommend it and hope to come again.

Beautiful Stay
We had a wonderful stay at St Cybranet. The house is amazing. 3 bedrooms , heaps of living space so we could all spread out and do our own thing. The kitchen had everything we needed. The pool was beautiful, so refreshing in the hot weather we experienced and the table tennis was a great hit ! The location is fabulous, we have been to France many times and found this location to be the best - we were never more than 45 minutes away from any of the sights or activities. Would recommend the canoeing and paintballing. Monpazier and Sarlat were lovely to potter about and of course wandering around the chateaus and villages of Castelnaud ,Beynac-et-Cazenac and Les Millandes was wonderful. We didn’t make it to the candlelit gardens at Marqueyssac year as it was just too hot but it is so close by and would thoroughly recommend it to others. Booking with Allana was really straightforward, she was quick to respond to messages. Vincent our host was great, he was there for advice , recommendations and information when needed but never intrusive. He was a mine of information and had a great sense of humour. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - Thank You

Perfect
We had an amazing time in the Dordogne. The house was large, well equipped, full of character but with a large modern kitchen and modern bathrooms and spotlessly clean. Vincent was a lovely and welcoming host. The location was perfect for us. Peaceful and rural with amazing views from both the covered terrace and the outside dining area under its dappled shade of trees and vines, but only a short drive to the bakery, shops, the river and restaurants. The pool was also much appreciated as the end of a hot day. Would highly recommend and hope we can visit again.

Idyllic Property
Our stay at Les Bruguettes was superb. The owners were extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our stay while respecting our privacy. The property is idyllic with great views, creative and picturesque landscaping and gardening, and multiple lovely spots to sit outside for a meal or relaxing. The pool was enjoyed and well maintained. The house itself was also a pleasure, well maintained, comfortable and with wonderful views. Finally, though this was our fifth trip to the Dordogne, we didn’t quite realize how perfect this location would be, seemingly just a few minutes to all the top spots of the Dordogne: Domme, La Roque Gageac, Castelnaud, Beynac, Gardens of Marqueyssac, etc. we certainly hope to return in the future.
