The quayside in Amble has a Sunday weekly market and is home to the Harbour Village where small independent shopping pods sell a range of arts, crafts, accessories, food, and drink. Head to the RPSB reserve of Coquet Island to discover puffins, terns and eider ducks, and take a boat ride around the island to see it from a unique perspective, while wildlife lovers will also relish the chance to explore the Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre and birdwatching opportunities are prominent at Druridge Bay.
Six miles North brings you to the quaint town of Alnmouth, a popular coastal village known for its excellent 18-hole golf course and its charming cycle routes. Stop off at one of the blissful beer gardens and soak in the glorious scenery. Further afield brings you into the thriving market town of Alnwick with its medieval Castle and outstanding natural beauty.
Alnwick Castle has been featured as a filming location in a variety of films, including Harry Potter and Downtown Abbey. Another main attraction is the Alnwick Gardens with its stunning landscaped gardens, the famous Poison Garden, and impressive waterfalls.
Hulne Park is the perfect choice with 3,000 acres of pretty Parkland, Gothic tower, and breath-taking views.
