Stayed here with my daughter in February 2023 and we both loved the property. It has everything you need, it’s very clean and comfortable and it’s set in a lovely little village. Easy access to Whitby by car, only 5 minutes away. 5 stars
This is a delightful cottage, well equipped for all needs, quiet and very comfortable. And as you're on the doorstep of Whitby it's good to know that there's an excellent fish-and-chips shop just up the road! One small word of caution - exiting the drive is slightly dodgy. It's on a bend and it's quite difficult to see approaching traffic in both directions. However, the road is not very busy, so this isn't a major issue.
My wife and I stayed at this property for three nights in May. It was very comfortable, clean and had all essential items needed. The location is great for a short trip into Whitby or Robin Hood Bay. We had a great day out on the NYMR going from Goathland to Pickering. The countryside is outstanding and the village where the accommodation is situated, is lovely.
Would recommend to anyone wanting to visit the area
We loved our stay at Burnside cottage. It’s a really lovely cottage with good sized garden in a quiet village location. It’s been decorated to a high standard. Short drive into Whitby.
The hosts go above and beyond what we usually experience when self catering to make sure your stay is comfortable - for example, there’s bath sheet sized towels, enough toilet roll for entire stay, toys and books for families, dog bowels and blankets, goodies from local bakery on arrival, things like cooking oil and foil in the kitchen, luxury toiletries. Lots of little touches that made the place extra special!
Only downsides for us were that the layout with the main bedroom a few rooms away from the bathroom wasn’t ideal for our circumstances and the shower wasn’t great. There was a freezer which was a nice surprise as we’d only spotted fridge listed on vrbo.
We would definitely stay again if in the area!
