The World's Original Marmalade Awards are held annually at Dalemain, a nearby ancient mansion with gardens. Troutbeck is a fantastic home base for exploring the stunning landscape of Ullswater, Glenridding, and Patterdale, and on to Ambleside and the southern end of the Lake District through the Kirkstone Pass.

We were there for walking the fells so it was fabulous to come back to a warm, clean and comfortable house with plenty of hot water, and great cooking facilities
