If you are looking to visit the Northern Lakes and fells this terraced cottage, adjacent to the owners home, is ideally positioned. Picturesque Ullswater less than 10 minutes away in a car and Penrith only 5 minutes away. The owners’ have lovingly and tastefully restored this mid terraced cottage retaining the character of the original features but bringing a contemporary feel which will be comfortable for families and groups of friends to relax and enjoy. The living room hosts a cosy wood burner where the fire surround includes the latin quote ‘Domus Dulcis Domus’, translated this means ‘Home Sweet Home’ and this is exactly what Bumblebee Nook aims to offer. It is located at the end of a short lane, which is the perfect haven if you require a quiet and peaceful location, whilst still having easy access from the M6. It is also on a bus route if you fancy jumping on a bus and leaving all the driving to someone else. With the benefit of being south east facing, the front of the cottage has the sunshine for most of the day and into the evening, perfect for a glass of wine outside, while soaking up the atmosphere at the front of the property, with open fields and Blencathra in the distance. At the rear of the cottage is a quiet upper terraced patio. Nine steps access this perfect area for your morning cuppa, where you can look out across green pasturelands and can see in the distance, peaks of the Pennines.

From the front door there are numerous walks to enjoy, which include the River Eamont where the historical sites of King Arthur’s round table and Mayburgh Henge can be viewed. For good walking, the fells nearby include the High Street range, 5 miles away and Helvellyn only 10 miles away. The cottage is ideally placed for enjoying the activities around Ullswater which is only 4 miles away, where excellent walking and cycling amidst splendid scenery can be enjoyed. If you enjoy a picnic, why not pack a rug and goodies and explore the numerous beaches around Ullswater, perfect to relax and rejuvenate from busy lives. To make the most of the spectacular scenery take a cruise on the Ullswater steamers which sail throughout the year. Watersports are also nearby with rowing boats and kayaks.

If you’re looking to explore Penrith, which is known as the ’gateway of the Northern Lakes’ and the doorstep to the Eden Valley, this local market town certainly won’t disappoint. It hosts not only history galore but a good variety of independent and high street shops and restaurants, and also includes a small cinema. Keswick is less than 20 miles away where walkers are offered an abundance of walking and climbing or perhaps a leisurely cruise on Derwentwater is on your to do list. A stroll in the market town offers further shops, pubs and restaurants to savour and delight. Shop 3 miles, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
