The place is large enough for 4 people, very comfortable, nice big master bedroom. Everything you might need to cook your own meals is present. Very nice and helpfull owner! Loved talking to her! Very short walk to the local Notley Arms, which is always good to visit! Monksilver is an ideal little village to spend time, talk to the locals, have a wee walk, have a strong cider at the Notley's, discover the church's history and the grave of a mother and her daughter that were murdered over a century ago,... We'll definitely be back!

Comfortable, quiet and superbly equipped property. Very friendly proprietor. Many walks on the doorstep. Local hostelry friendly but offers fine dining at appropriate prices and does not offer meals every evening. When we were there dinner was not available on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings.

Really enjoyed our stay, very comfortable, clean and very well-equipped for everything. Local info and walking maps too- easy to take a hike - just walk out the door and up the path for great views of the beautiful countryside and the coast ! Great for star-gazing on a clear night- we saw the Milky-way and even a shooting star! It's a great base for exploring the surrounding area and the owners are very friendly. Would be very happy to stay there again :)

The Coleridge Way is a quill-marked walk of 51 miles between Nether Stowey and Lynmouth, whcih passes nearby to Bridlecott and enjoys glorious scenery, crossing both the Quantock Hill and Exmoor.

The village of Monksilver provides excellent access to Brendon Hills and Exmoor National Park and is also close to the coast. There is plenty to do for walkers, tourists and families alike:
Why not visit Cleeve Abbey (2.7 miles), the historic house of Coombe Sydenham (0.25 miles), or Dunster Castle and its historic village (7.9 miles). You could plan a ride on the West Somerset Steam Railway ….. or visit Europe’s first International dark sky reserve at the Stargazing Dark Sky Reserve.
With such a wonderful natural environment this is also a great place for enjoying the great outdoors!
There are many beaches in the area where visitors may enjoy swimming, kite flying, windsurfing, or simply relaxing with a bucket and spade. Exmoor National Park also hosts the Exmoor Cycle Route and Exmoor Forest which is a former royal hunting ground, where horse riders can experience some of the best riding in the country.

Amenities:
The village of Monksilver has it's own pub called The Notley Arms which also serves food, this within easy walking distance of Bridlecott. There is a village shop, Post Office and pub in the village of Stogumber, which is 2 miles away. There is also The Bicknoller Inn, which serves good food and is family friendly, just 3.5 miles from the property.

The nearest town is Williton, which is which is 3 miles from Bridlecott. There are two small supermarkets in Williton, a petrol station, cash machines, local restaurants and a couple of take-away outlets, a hardware store, butchers, pharmacy, etc.

Minehead is approximately 10 miles from the property. Here you will find the larger supermarkets and petrol stations (Tesco and Morrison's are both situated on the outskirts of the town), most major high street banks with cash machines, plus a range of other shops throughout the town.

Taunton is the county town of Somerset and is approximately 14 miles from Monksilver.

Tesco and Sainsbury's both delivery grocery shopping to this area.
