Worthy Cottage is a quiet, cosy 'gatehouse' cottage with sea views from the bedroom and is ideal for couples looking for a romantic break - just 5 minutes field walk to unique Porlock Weir harbour with pub, hotel and cafes. Great walking from the door. Dogs welcome for £25 each.

Worthy Cottage offers a quiet retreat from the everyday bustle of life; downstairs is an open-plan kitchen/dining/sitting room with wood-burner. Upstairs is the bathroom and good sized bedroom with king-sized bed and great views across the Manor gardens to the sea beyond. The private garden (not enclosed) next to the cottage offers the perfect place to enjoy this unspoiled corner of Exmoor.

Worthy Cottages is ideal if you are looking for a base for walking; the South West Coast Path runs right past offering dramatic cliff paths, farm tracks, fields and beautiful wooded combes with seasonal waterfalls and streams between Worthy Cottage and Lynmouth.
Worthy Cottage is strictly non-smoking.

Indoor Description
Worthy Cottage kitchen is fitted with washing machine, fridge/ freezer, microwave, electric oven and ceramic hob. Other equipment includes toaster, kettle, a variety of kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses. Iron and Ironing board and hair dryer are included. Note, there is no dishwasher in this cottage.
The TV has an Amazon Firestick providing access to Amazon Prime, Netflix , BBC iplayer, ITV Hub, BT Sport and the owners library of films/TV series' etc. WIFI is available throughout the property.
Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. Worthy Cottage is fitted with wall-mounted heaters in the bedroom and living area, which can provide instant heat or programmed to suit, plus a wall-mounted heater and heated towel rail in the bathroom. There is also a wood burner in the living area; kindling, matches and a basket of logs will be provided. Additional logs/kindling can be purchased from the hardware shop in Porlock.
Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips. Bed linen is not supplied for the cot.
A small amount of tea, coffee, sugar and milk are provided to ensure you can have a hot drink as soon as you arrive.
Cleaning materials such as washing up liquid, washing powder and surface cleaner will be present in the property. Two toilet rolls will be provided.
Outdoor Description
Worthy Cottage has its own private garden (not enclosed) adjacent to the property, and table/chairs.
There is walking straight from the door into the woods behind or down to the beach where dogs are allowed all year round, the South West Coast path is also easily accessed as it runs right past.
There is an external tap/hose that is useful to wash boots/dogs off.
Parking
Off-road parking for one car is available directly outside the property.
Pets Description
Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement (maximum of 2). A supplementary fee of £25 will be added to your invoice per dog. Please do not allow your dogs on the sofa or upstairs and do not leave them alone in the property at any time.

Porlock Weir is a picturesque harbour village on the Exmoor National Park coastline in Somerset, with a history stretching back to the 15th century. The small tidal harbour, with its ancient lock gates and pebble beach, sits at the heart of a thriving community.
You'll find a welcoming pub, restaurants ranging from relaxed dining to Michelin-listed Italian cuisine, cosy cafes, and a popular street food takeaway -- all within walking distance of the harbour. Independent shops and galleries line the lanes, including Exmoor Glass, the Harbour Gallery, and Porlock Bay Oysters, which opened expanded premises in 2024.
The larger village of Porlock is approximately one mile away and has a broader range of amenities including grocery shops, a traditional butcher, chemist, cash machine, hardware shop, visitor centre, and a selection of independent restaurants and tea rooms. Most shops in Porlock and Porlock Weir keep hours of 9am to 5pm, often extending during the summer season.
Porlock Weir was recently used as a filming location for The Salt Path, the adaptation of Raynor Winn's bestselling memoir about walking the South West Coast Path.
