This small community, perched on the harbour, has a designated Wildlife Reserve, allowing nature to flourish and making it a great place for birdwatchers. Along with shops, a choice of three ale and beer taverns, and St. Thomas à Becket, one of the greatest churches of its sort, the village also contains many bungalow homes made from former railroad carriages. Along the shore is a shingle beach that has a reputation for being one of the sunniest spots in the UK. Swimming, sailing, windsurfing, walking, and visiting the historical Mulberry Harbour platform are all excellent beach activities. Both the cathedral city of Chichester and the nearby beach resort of Bognor Regis provide amenities and attractions to satisfy people of all ages and tastes.
