About this property
Casa Longy, modern and spacious, beach and golf, family holiday home
A tastefully decorated, sizeable family home, with space and light for you to feel comfortable and relaxed during your stay. Located front line to the golf course, you can have lunch in the garden enjoying watching the golfers and then collecting their lost balls in the garden later :)
With a fabulous communal swimming pool and well maintained gardens, you can relax and absorb the warm Andalucian sunshine. To cool down and relax in the evenings, indoors you will find a full sized pool table in the lounge area.
The decor at Casa Longy is interesting in that we share not just a love of music and sports, but also wall art from our travels around the world. It is very much a home from home, the sofa is large, comfortable and inviting. The garden spaces offer you a place to relax and enjoy dining Al Fresco, at the rear overlooking the golf course and at the front, pretty much always a sunny spot, just next to the kitchen, ideal for a G & T whilst you watch dinner cooking.
With 2 bedroom suites on opposite sides of the house, the master bedroom overlooking the golf and mountains with new bathroom including hydro massage shower reformed in 2024 and the front twin (with extra bed available) looking out towards the golf and sea, both rooms maintain their privacy within, making it ideal for two couples or for families. The private roof terrace with outdoor shower is another great spot to relax and enjoy the sunshine, we have a couple of loungers up there for sun lovers and a new outdoor shower. You can relax in the cosy new love seat area for a cooler space in the evenings, enjoying the mountains and distant lights along the coast. Our new modern dedicated desk space, offers the chance to work remotely, so now you can work, rest and play at Casa Longy.
Alcaidesa Links clubhouse is just a 10 minute walk away, great for breakfast or a coffee any time of the day, offering stunning views from the terrace, across the putting green and to the sea beyond.
The fabulous La Finca Thai Fusion restaurant is an easy 15 mins walk away, offering outstanding Thai cuisine, famed all along the coast and also surprisingly the best Sunday Roast dinner during the cooler months.
The beach is a pleasant 25 minute walk with amazing views en route, you can of course drive there in just 5 minutes. We have a beach kit, to make your beach days more comfortable, including a couple of beach chairs and umbrella, beach towels and a cool bag.
Once at the beach D'Blanco beach bar is the place to go for drinks beside the sea and freshly cooked fish and seafood, with views along the sandy beach to the Rock of Gibraltar and on a clear day to mountains in Morocco beyond.
The new 'Marbella style' One Eden beach club offers a luxurious beach experience, with loungers and straw parasols and beach beds with white curtains, just a step or two away from the sea.
There is a pretty Spanish 'plaza' at the beach, with bars and pizza restaurant/takeaway, a local convenience store, a bar showing sports and with live music/karaoke in the summer months.
The new smart commercial centre offers more choices of dining experiences, Indian cuisine and local flavours, along with Pizza Express.
Gibraltar, a 20 minute drive away, is a British colony, with lots to do on the Rock, historic sites include the caves and second world war tunnels inside the Rock, there is a cable car to the top where you will no doubt meet the resident Barbary Apes. There are familiar British shops in the Main St and an abundance of bars and restaurants set in historic Casemates Square and in the Marinas of Queensway Quay and Ocean Village.
Easily accessible, with Casa Longy as your base, you can enjoy day trips to Malaga, there's far more to see than the airport, Granada with the famous Alhambra Palace and the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada, historic Cadiz, amazing for carnival in February, Cordoba beautiful in the Springtime with cobbled streets around the Mesquita full of blooming flower baskets, Ronda is an amazing day out to view the huge gorge and bull ring, steeped in history, with amazing fiestas for Easter and in September, accessible by car or by train from the railway station just 10 mins drive away, one of the most beautiful scenic train journeys in Europe and of course Seville one of our absolute favourite places to visit any time of year.

About the host
Hosted by Paul
I grew up in Liverpool, U.K.
My roots certainly had an impact on my love of and taste in music and you will see images of the Beatles and reference to Paul Weller in particular, along with my guitars in our house (I will leave a guitar in the house for you to play).
I have lived and worked around the world, primarily in the U.K. and Gibraltar, but also spending time working in Asia, South America and other European countries.
I enjoy playing and singing, I'm always keen to show off at the karaoke, I like to watch and play golf, I also enjoy horse racing and football, I'm a blue, my team is Everton.

Why they chose this property
After returning from distant travels, in 2016 I bought Casa Longy. It needed some renovation and luckily I had good friends to help with the work and in making the house in to a beautiful home.
I had stayed in Alcaidesa during my time working in Gibraltar and had instantly fallen in love with the area....and with my wife to be Josie. I already knew what to expect, great golf courses on my doorstep (just over the back garden fence actually!!), whole days catching some rays at the beach, a beach which stretches for miles and offers an oustanding view of The Rock, with good local seafood and several beers to boot. Days turning in to nights and balmy evenings in the beautiful little square, where you're sure to start chatting (usually football or music in my case) to locals and ex pats alike.

What makes this property unique
Casa Longy is a beautiful home from home, in fact it became our first home together for a couple of years, before the work travels began again and we were whisked away to Malta!
The home we had created now turned in to a brilliant holiday space for all to enjoy.
Casa Longy is in a beautiful residential gated urbanisation, secure and pleasant, its pool area and well kept gardens are safe for families and quiet enough for couples and with very nice Spanish neighbours either side of us, we think it has it all. Our back garden overlooking the golf course is a great place to end the day with a family BBQ, or a game of pool in the dining room, the roof terrace also a lovely cool and quiet and relaxing area in the evenings.
The house is homely and interesting too, is full of memories of our travels and my love of music, decorated with music and travel related wall art and posters from all around the world.
We love updating the house and it's always an ongoing project to keep it fresh and tidy, to enhance your experience and to help make your stay a pleasant one.
