Modern Home in Cortez, Great Views with Easy Access to Activities
Cortez is the perfect base for exploring the Southwest and Four Corners Region. The house is just miles from Mesa Verde National Park, Canyon of the Ancients Monument, Dolores, and Mancos. Situated on a plateau with beautiful views of the valley and the La Plata Range of the San Juan Mountains aka the Southwestern range of the Rockies.
This 1800 square foot home built in 2016 has all the necessities of a relaxing vacation house. The 3 bedrooms are spacious with surplus of closet space. The modern kitchen has all amenities for enjoying your vacation. The views outside the house are simply stunning of the La Plata Mountains and Mesa Verde. There are daily wildlife visits with deer literally at the backdoor.
Located only 45 minutes from Durango, it is convenient for day trips for activities such as rafting, riding the Narrow Gauge Railroad, and shopping. The Four Corners Monument is 45 minutes away, the only location to stand in four states at once. Our area offers, mountain biking from beginner to expert on world class trails including Phil's World, Boggy Draw and McElmo Canyon. Road cyclists also have options on multiple roads in the area. The San Juan National Forest offers plentiful trails for horseback riding, hiking, ATV riding, and areas for hunting. Fishing and boating on the numerous lakes including the second largest lake in Colorado, McPhee. Boat and paddle boards are available to rent at Doc's Marina McPhee as well as paddleboards in town at Kokopelli Bikes. The Dolores River is excellent for River sports. The nearest golf course is within 5 miles. Winter activities also abound. There is skiing in Durango and Telluride as well as cross country skiing, sledding, and snowshoeing.
