About this property

Peaceful and spacious Devon hideaway with wood fired hot tub

The Cider Barn, a piece of our 17th Century Devon farmstead. This beautiful space provides newly refurbished, spacious, self-catering accommodation for up to 6 people.

Tucked away along a quiet lane, the Cider Barn has 3 double bedrooms, all with king size beds (one of which can be a twin on request). There are two bathrooms, a large lounge with 7 seater sofa and smart TV, and a huge modern kitchen diner with vaulted ceilings.

Its a fantastic place to relax, walk to the pub, visit local attractions like Dartmoor or explore both coasts which are under an hour away.
Wander around the large private garden, or relax and unwind in a private wood fired hot tub, gazing out onto the idyllic countryside and starry night sky.

We sell home pressed apple juice from our orchard which you can walk through on one of two footpaths leading from the house.

We have a pizza oven and sourdough pizza bases to rent for a small fee, and trout fishing available on request!

Dogs very welcome

A peaceful and unique stay
We had a relaxing stay in the Cider barn with family. The house was just wonderful and exactly what we needed. It was clean, spacious and well decorated. Lots of thought has been put into some of the small touches like soap and shower gel and lots of eco friendly things. Lovely kitchen diner where we spent most of our indoors time but the lounge is spacious with comfy sofas and board games. We used the hot tub a couple of times, didn’t take too long to warm up and was easy to use. The dogs loved the large garden to have a run around and the walk to the The Duck pub along the footpath only took about 20 mins. Cat was very helpful and quick to respond to any messages. We wished we could have had a few days longer to explore the area.

Hello! My name is Cat. I live on my little farm in Devon where I run the Cider Barn and a small flower farm amongst other things. I am a gardener from Scotland and my partner is from London, and we moved here to live a more sustainable and self sufficient lifestyle.

Why they chose this property

The Cider Barn was really used to store cider apples back in the day! However, it is now a beautiful, newly refurbished house with all the home comforts you could wish for at a high standard. It is peaceful, relaxed and feels nestled away from the rat race but also has amenities nearby, 2 pubs within walking distance and our nearest town with supermarkets etc. is only a 10 min drive. Our guests love to unwind here and spend quality time together, the house is so comfy and cosy that it's tempting to not venture far!

What makes this property unique

A beautiful private wood fired hot tub looking out over the hill. A pizza oven and delicious sourdough bases available for hire. Footpaths straight from the property onto our land.
