Wonderful Experience
We needed a place for our extended family to stay before a destination wedding. This villa was ideally located, close to the wedding and close to Certaldo. It was a great place for our families to relax and the kids (2-6) to run around. We were made to feel very welcome by Silvio and his family. In fact, everyone arrived with Jetlag and were too tired to go out so we were very happy that Silvio and his family were willing to save us with a home cooked multi-course dinner with fresh local ingredients and wine and olive oil from their vineyards and groves. Silvio narrated each course. It was not inexpensive, but it was worth every penny. We purchased some of the wine and olive oil to take home.
We also learned that the grounds were created, the villa was built, and many of the furnishings were made by (or for), Silvio's grandfather. The grounds are, and villa is, beautiful. And it also explained why they have kept some of the "well loved" furniture, but it met our needs.
We enjoyed our stay immensely and would stay again. One thing to know - there is an apartment in the lower level. We had the entire upper level as it is the main living area. Each area has its own entrance, and we never heard the other guests.
If you're looking for a unique experience, beautiful grounds, a working vineyard and olive groves, pomegranate trees, amazing views, and hosts who went very much above and beyond, this is one such place. Thank you, Silvio and family, for a visit we will always remember.
