Accommodation was the perfect balance of cosy and modern. It was immaculately presented and very well equipped.
We received a warm welcome on our arrival, including a gift of homemade shortbread and some locally made whisky.
Tilly, the dog, dropped in to hello too and visited us daily and was absolutely no trouble at all.
The accommodation is in an ideal location which made days away very easy and accessible. I would definitely wish to stay again and would highly recommend this holiday home.

I am a working artist/painter having finished my Masters in Glasgow and exhibiting and selling my work internationally. Originally from London , we lived in Chamonix for 20 years, my wife Mette and our 3 children Daisy, Lilla and Violette and have now moved to the Trossachs in Scotland. We now want to share our beautiful new home and its surroundings with our guests . We also run an interior design and renovation business Milk interiors . We love the mountain lifestyle , skiing , hiking and biking .
Why they chose this property
As well as the cottage we also have two log cabins available for self-catering holidays on the grounds of Ardoch Lodge, which includes a Victorian walled garden, a water meadow, and lots of grass paths to roam amongst the trees and wildflowers. The river Balvaig forms one of the boundaries which we have boating and fishing rights for. Wildlife abounds here with red squirrels visiting the bird tables, deer roam through the grounds with occasional visits from foxes and pine martens. Bird life flourishes with buzzards, ravens, jays and great spotted woodpeckers to name just a few. The south facing views are spectacular with the nearby hills, swathed in forest, seen against a background of the more distant and rugged peaks of Ardnadave and Ben Vane.
What makes this property unique
Guests are welcome to roam and use the grounds surrounding Ardoch Lodge, an idyllic retreat of 9 acres surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery, and enchanting bluebell woods in the spring. We are very proud of our beautiful walled garden which is perfect for sitting in and enjoying the scenery while sipping on a G&T. The river Balvaig forms one of our boundaries and is great way to cool off on those hotter summer days, we also have a licence for boating and fishing which has brown trout form Feb to the end of October. Whether you stay here for the whole of your holiday never getting into your car or use our central location as a base to explore this stunning part of Scotland you will have an excellent holiday.
